This is a good phone, however it doesn't have the option to "auto update" on the time and date for some reason, and it DOES NOT come with a memory card. So if you're exspecting to put itunes onto this phone, like I was, you won't be able to untill you purchase a $60+ memory card.... I'm kinda mad because I just returned my "SLVR" phone for this one, and the slvr had a built in card that held over 100 songs.
i got th v3i 2 weeks ago from Egypt, as soon as i got it, i discovered a serious problem, when i receive a call and press the answer button, 6 times out of 10 the software freezes. Went to the service center, and guess what, i found another customer with same model complaining about the same problem. Apparently - as the CS guy told us - the V3i comes with a software that has problems, he said no worries, they will download a new software to solve this problem. 2 days later, they told me they fixed the phone, and tried it and everything is cool, but when i used the phone, the problem remains. If you are considering buying this model, think twice before you do, apparently Moto is famous with it's messy softwares!!!!
i have this phone for less than a month then screen kaput. and phone was a bit buggy too before that. its under repair now and its been two weeks (no spare parts). i am in KL malaysia and the after sales service really SUCKS. if ur a nokia user, dont bother getting this phone. bad user interface. and reliability, as i know is suspect. stick with ur nokia. i will go back to nokia after i sell off this phone.
Does anyone know IF,HOW and WHERE i can get a reader for pdf on this phone. Desperate please someone help. I love this phone but need a ebook reader on it urgently.
ibcC: same problem here with my moto slvr. the 2nd page of sms it's tooo slowww!
and you still have to enter that annoying menu to turn delivery reports "on" too? :\ lazy motorola...
i have a v3 black and with the standard memory of 10MB you only have space for a couple of songs and some pictures
I´m using the V3i for 6 weeks now. It´s looks are great but that´s about it. The structure of the menu is awfull (nintendo 8 bit style), it freezes up when too much images are saved on the phone (in my case 10 was enough)and its slow comparred tot a nokia 6230. Buy the V3i if you want a cool looking phone and don´t mind the discomfort.
As my previous comment have stated, smsing is a little difficult at the beginning because of it's flat keypad design. However the main problem is because the phone lags once you reach the 2nd page of your sms. I can type 4-5 words ahead of the phone before it appears and I have to wait for it to slowly appear.
hi im planning to buy this phone but ive read loads of reviews saying that the keypad isnt suited for someone who likes to text.does anyone who has the fone find it hard to press the buttons a lot while texting?
Seeing this phone, I knew I had to own one! :)I havent bought it yet because im using Nokia6680, and wanted to ask all of you who have this phone: Is the meny too complicated or "illogical"? I've always had Nokias, but then V3 came.... :) Please, I'm in a hurry! Thanx
hi guys and gals, this is one of the best cellphones launched by Motorola. Who ever decides to purchase one will not regret it. If you do let me know!!!
after reading some comments about this phone, i'll probably get the v3x instead.
yes u can turn the sound off when u use the camera. switch on the camera, go on its menu, click 'pictures setup', 'shutter tone' and then click 'none'.
Bought this phone 2 months ago.Second months problem starts. At times you cant hear the other party and at times its ok and you can hear them. Very frustrated.
Sent in for repairs. The next day collected the phone and the staff simply informed that this was the sofware problem and had upgraded the software.
Same day use it , and same problem starts !! Not sure what the hell Motorola staff was trying to prove......or trying to cheat their customers.
After 3 to 4 days of hell with the Motorola phone , sent in for the second time ( on Sat ) After explaining to the staff , now the staff informed it was the transmitter problem. They had no stock for the parts and had to wait for 2 days. They will call once the hp spare parts is in.And they give assurance to update me the following day. ( Sun )
On Sun , no one call. Another lie from Motorola. Mon no one call, until I need to call them. When making queries , one of the female staff simply informed me that the phones will be ready within 2 weeks time DESPITE of explaining to her my situation. ( What a super customer service by Motorola. ) When I wanted to complaint , miraclely they informed me to collect the phone by 6 pm on the same day. ( this kept me wondering whether I am dealing with professional or a bunch of clowns)
By 6pm i arrived only to be informed by the staff that the phones is not ready !! This is really too much. I raised my voice and repeat the incident again. The staff went into the so call office and within 10 minutes came out with my phone.
One week later the SAME problem starts all over again.
Sent for the 3rd time for the same problem. Explained to Motorola staff the recurring problem. The staff test the phone for few seconds and said the phone is ok ! ( Another super customer service by Motorola ) If twice the Motorola engineer not able to rectify the problem , this customer service staff can rectify with only few seconds of testing !!
naturally after raised my voice , they decided to monitor it for 4 days and rectify the problem.
I yet to collect my ph as it is not due. When the time comes , I assure Motorola that hell will break loose if the same problem happens AGAIN.
this happens in Singapore , Moto Service Plaza Singapura.
This the only channel to fend my anger and frustration for the kind of services rendered my Motorola.
Hope some of Motorola big shot will read this and act on the lapses.....on Motorola's product and also Motorola's services !!
Now looking for a new phone.....Motorola is definately out.
i just got the phone four days ago. everything is great about it. the camera is good, bluetooth works fine and i was able to configure the internet to work on t-mobile easily. the only problem is i cannot get i-tunes, motorola phone tools, or even my computer to acknowledge my phone via usb. after four days of technical support from moto they told me to send it to them. any suggestions would be helpful.
Can anybody tell me, can i turn the camera sound off when use camera??
Tks for the info.
Vicky, the song number limitation depends on the size of memory card you insert into the phone. Currently I have 128mb memory card in my V3i, 25 songs stored, some pictures, and still more than a half of the TF memory free.
