this phone is so freaking cool. i want it. they need to have that same phone with cingular!!!!!!!!! i want it so bad.
lacks lots of things.
1. no flash for camera
2. no WiFi
3. no gaming buttons whn compared to E680i
4. phone memory is 8MB(razr v3i=12Mb)
5. not 3G
6. no EDGE facility
If the above features were present, this would have been an awesome phone.
Why do people still bother to buy moto phones... dont waste your money...
pat after pat
guys u r doing mind blowing job
jack of all
all things are good still few things
increase in the inbuild phone book memory atleast 20mb
document editing not to miss job during holidays
wifi
OMG, Finally a decent phone! Where do I buy?
Pity it has a touchscreen though...
Tri-band? No 3G or at least EDGE? Deal breaker for me.
the phone looks good but only one suggestion please use symbian or windows.
Looks nice. Although, I can't help thinking of it as a poor man's HTC or Eten..
Mac OSX is UNIX based. Not the handset...
some owner said e6 doesnt has EQ setting
The UI is certainly better than v3/L7/k1. But if only there is WiFi or 3G, then this phone is good. The barcode scanning function is to decode 1D or 2D barcodes. Like Japan Docomo phones can make payment at supermarket by scanning the barcode and it will charge it to the monthly phone bills.
cool, modernistic yet classy design...hope moto would implement the same UI in their phones too
Does this phone use sim card or the net, im a regular tmobile plan and im thinking about getting this phone, would i have to switch to one of there internet plans?
should of had wifi
Woaaa it has 3.5mm jack!!!
Awesome! Linux based OS... Wonder how It'll work with Windows Vista and XP... I expect It'll work better with Mac OSX since it's Unix based as well as Red Hat also.
please not for all purposes this is a java bassed operating system. Its just running a basic *linux kernel to load its Java software. It will not be favoured to any other operating system more so because of this.
As far as its Geek factor is concerned, id support it, as they support linux ;) and time will only tell how maluable the hardware is as fas as running geek land linux tools :P Which would be unreal. but highly unlikely.
Have any other of the older Linux bassed motorolla handsets had any extensive porting achieved on them?
i want it!
Awesome! Linux based OS... Wonder how It'll work with Windows Vista and XP... I expect It'll work better with Mac OSX since it's Unix based as well as Red Hat also. Wish I'd seen this phone earlier. It looks kinda nice. I rather liked the V3 black. Although it looks boring now, It's nice to see Motorola coming back with new-ish ideas.
Although the PDA design has been round for quite a while though, I'm thinking that this is maybe Motorola's first real attempt at conquering the PDA market.
Also, going back to the OS - another thing I just thought of is the possibilities with regards to open-source code and apps.
This should be pretty cool.
ye this phone is seriously lacking alot of things that are standard in new PDA smartphones and even Java Based phones, ive got a SE W900 so if i got this E6 i would be downgrading
@ Steven
Oh pardon for my poor english then...Anyway I do not feel ashamed of that as my mother tongue is not english feel free to relate me to crap phones or insult me anyway it will only make me look down on you. If you feel this phone is a crap, then sell it. Anyway and don't post comments like it is outdated technology where you never even mention what this phone is backdated or lack in performances. By the way seriously do you own this phone before?? I had mentioned before this phone lacks EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi and low internal memory which people should consider buying or not. Anyway I own SE k800i, which i used for camera or calls only. Who cares about using a crap small screen to surf and email when I can carry my fujitsu centrino duo core to surf at any wifi areas.
