Well I've never played with the RAZR2 so i cannot offer any opinions about it other than spec wise.
Not sure what other phones have metal contruction besides the LG Shine which is eh...to me. But if you can over look the metal perhaps you could take a look at the LG Veiwty, LG KS20, and the SE W910. Never really cared for Samsungs but the F330 looks pretty sleek, not sure about the screen in sunlight though...anyway best of luck to you!
Try asking for help in the Motorolafans.com forum. They are really good at providing answers to questions like yours
hey guys i am not been able to download themes on my E6 so need a bit of help from u guys..............
thanx 4 d loads of info dude..my boss hs d 880 ws aimin 4 dat n he bot it bt nw hes squirmin abt it lol thanx 4 al d info man..i wana mak a style statement coz am in tech busines 1ly so eve1 arnd nos am techy bt i wana show i aint no geek...neways sry bt i askd 4 a comparative review dude of d e6 n razr2..do u no d battery backup of razr2??
d e6 hs a plastic body?? :0 bloody moto made maks bel !! neways kewl..
p.s.me nt likin nokia is a lng family story dude lol bsds eve1 hs 1 in ofice..i wana b diff :)
btw did you look at the W880? the front panel is aluminum(which is more than the E6 and it's less than 1cm thick. wont give you alot of features but it will definately get you noticed :)
my question to you is what kind of statement do you want to make? There's classy/sleek, high-tech, and unique. This phone is raelly only good at being unique. But since the iPhone came its less "cool". Its still different and i like the look/feel better but the touchscreen thing is less unique now. The phone itself is professional but not very classy...The lines are very plain and boring with very little finess. only sleekness found here is that the corners are all curved. Its definately not hightech in anyway other than the touchscreen. the camera is ehhh...and there's no flash or autofocus. It's less of a showy phone than a practical phone. it gets the job done and in a fun way but i dont know if it fits the bill of making a statement.
Is there a reason why you dislike Nokias? They honestly make the best "professional" phones around. The 8600 Luna is one of my favorite and i would buy it if it only had a memory slot. It's also around the same price range as the E6
As for the battery, with light-moderate use this phone can last aroun 2.5days. i typically am a heavy user(ie: 1-2hrs of watching video with 1-2hrs of music and 1-2hrs of talking) and it makes it through the whole day. although i should warn you that it will NOT make it through the next with the same beating LOL it will make it through on standby (ie: no calls or any activity and screen off).
Oh, and dont forget to note that while the phone appears to be clad in metal its actually all plastic save for the battery cover...i discovered this after two drop of the phone and there is a big difference between impacts on the rear cover and elsewhere...just a warning although the look/feel is unlikely to be altered by this fact
i work in a hi profile company so i need sumtin dat wod make a statement..i chkd d sony ericson alrdy its al plastic plastic n don really lik d nokia.. i wil tlk on d mob lik for 2-4hrs dude..heard d razr2 hs battery trouble..wil it hold atles a day??
thanx 4 d info
There are 2 ways to turn off an alarm 1) you select the "cancel" button when it goes off or 2) you go to the alarm settings and uncheck the box with the alarm you want turned off
Im not quite sure what you mean when you say you want to activate your GPRS. To activate the GPRS antenna on your phone you click on the status bar in the stand-by screen. then from the drop down menu next to GPRS select "enabled". If that is already done you need to put in the settings for you Carrier's network. Get the info from them and then enter it in the Setup->Data Network->create new profile.
I dont think you need a screen gaurd but i put one on because when i left other people use my phone they seem to push very hard with their nails and i didnt want to risk it. You can use a pda screen gaurd but they arent as clear or hard as phone screen gaurds because they need to be flexable. im using a normal screen gaurd and the sensitivity is unchanged.
If all you want is a stylish mobile i would suggest the RAZR2. But then again there are a ton of other mobile choices out there besides those two...I love sony ericsson's S500 and W910...nokia's 6500 classic and 8600 luna are nice too. Samsung's F330 isnt too shabby either. Theres also the LG KS20 and lets not forget motorola's own RIZR Z8/Z10. I suggest you take a look around before you plunk down on a new phone
i am confused between moto rokr E6 and razr2..can u tell me which is better??
p.s. i just want a stylish mobile !
hey i brought this cel recently very stylish n nice cel. i jus want 2 no should i use screenguard on screen? also how can i activate my GPRS (its activated by my network but can not b accessable from cell.) Also tell me how to switch off d alarm when it starts?
Also look at the Sony Ericsson P1i and the W960. ASUS also has some nice phones but i dont know if you can get a hold of them. they are kind of hard to find
1. It depends on what youre looking for. Its good for watching videos(2.4" screen is a lot bigger than 2"), music(has both 3.5mm jack and stereo blutooth built in), playing games( the GBA and FBA emulators are Awesome and better than any java game around. The firmware upgades are nice but not neccessary to enjoy the phone. although i would definately recommend the EDGE and Quadband mods, they are very easy to install(less than 5 mins after you install the software provided at motorolafans.com.
2. From my understanding it is very unlikely that they will release the kernel for the E6. Without the kernel it is also very unlikely they will be able to add SDHC compatibility to the phone. There is however a movement to put openmoko on the phone in which case many more options would be avalible
3. I do not know why you cannot edit office files. I guess that it has to do with the decoding of the MS file which is why a lot of programs do not allow for editing
4. There are no 8GB SD cards. SD cards only go up to 4GB due to the indexing scheme (FAT16) All SDHC cards use FAT32 and are therefore incompatible. The 8GB cards you are refering to are SDHC cards.
2. No (can only edit .txt files)
4. No, its has only GPRS built-in and you can mod it to have EDGE
5. same processor as the MING
The E6 and the MING are essentially the same phone except the MING is thicker and has a screen cover. Other than that the differences are almost purely esthetic.
Based on your requirements i would suggest the LG Viewty or the LG Prada phone. There are probably others but those are the 1st two that come to mind.
