E8 does have radio but it is not RDS.
i currently own a SE w890 and E8.
i find that the audio quality of the E8 is better than the w890 using the same 3.5mm headset.
you can also sync the outlook contacts and calender using the MPT tools.
Can you synchronise your contacts and calendar from Outlook with the E8?
thanks for your comment to us

any software to download to play videos with mpg file and what about youtube as well? answer me guys plz...
got this fone last sunday (05-25-2008) as a replacement for my SE W850i that died (WSOD syndrome)... hhmmmm... so far, SE's Walkman Phones are still superior in audio quality especially if your into rich, deep bass (coz of Sony's proprietary MEGABASS technology)... I've done comparison on the same headphones (the original one from SE W850 bundle and my Philips HP250 "cheap" Hifi headphone)...
one thing that i don't like so far is that the EQ are all preset (no manual) and you can't use bass boost together with the EQ, so, it really sound so weak in terms of bass (at least compared to SE phones in MEGABASS mode). the sound quality is crystal clear though but rich deep bass totally is lacking... can't comment on the other features for now coz i mainly got this fone for music purposes...
oh well, i think i'll learn to love this fone eventually...
best phone ever loud music good battery extremely easy to use and cool accesories
the only thing i dont like is video camera the rest is just perfect i just compared photographs from a SE k550 E8 and nok 6300 by far E8 is the best
i own a Z6 and the amonut of messages which can be stored depends on the free space of your phone memory. i had once saved close to 1000 messages with no errors regarding space. and since E8 uses an highre version of motomagx software, i think it will be same if not better.
I'd like to know what the text message limit is on this phone. I know that the motorola razrs can only a little over 20 messages in the inbox at time.
Batter life is so far has been quite good. It is no better or worse than most other phones i have had. It is not a phone that drains the juice quickly from what I can tell. I think like anything, its more a factor of usage than anything (exceptions being those touch screen phones).
I cant say ive had any complaints with batter, it has lasted a few days quite comfortably.
Couldnt agree more! I have a ricoh capilo gx 100, which is another premium high end compact; I didn't spend close to 900 AUD on such a great camera to now spend another 500+ to be get a phone that thinks its a camera. The picture quality even on the best 5mp cameras is appaling at best.
The sensor is way to small, details are blured, etc. Color reproduction is poor, maybe im just fussy :P
The rokr E8 is just an mp3 player with a phone attached, that really sums it up best, well said!
You have to install the moto phone tools 5 software there should be a menu option on the left that allows you to transfer. I clicked on this option and it was pretty obvious how to transfer files from your PC to your phone.
I cant remember the name of the option, but I believe it was something like file transfer, either way, it was pretty obvious. You should consider reading the manual that came with the software if this is still causing you grief.
How do i transfer the file i mean as in music and pictures all that into the phone? the feature is great but i dont know how to transfer those files into my phone.. Please tell me how to transfer step by step, thanks...
To the person who provided us the comprehensive review, thank you very much for sharing your experience on E8 with us.
I bought an E8...but the phone is not in my hands...that's because surprisingly, my wife wanted to get the E8 over a U9!
When I first saw the "real" phone about a month ago, my first impression was: the screen "looks" much bigger than the specs on paper suggests.
Agree with the comment that for those who complain much about Moto phones / E8, have they even owned / tried one?
To me, E8 is more like an MP3 player with a phone feature. Agree for mobile phone camera users need to look some place else.
I own an E2 and I have "never" taken any pics with my phone. I mean, why bother with the phone's cam when I've a Canon G9?
Thanks very much for your elaborated review. i was waiting for one such review from a user. from which part of world are you from.
i am from india and desperately waiting for this phone to launch here.
my lookout in a phone is similar to yours and so i think this phone would suit me well.
i have some querries and i will be glad if you can answer those.
1. subjectively how is the sound quality through headphones when compared to other music branded phones like the SE walkman and nokia expressmusic. how is the bass effects produced.
2. does the 3D surround and bass boost really make any difference in the sound output.
3. how helpful are the preset equalizers.
4. is the default headphones of any worth and does it require an immediate replacement.
5. was there any memory card bundled along with phone.
6. with 500 Mhz processor, i believe its interface speed will be equivalent to V8. can you please confirm.
7. can 2 java files be run at same time. this is one drawback of the motomagx software and i want to know whether this has been addressed in the new version.
i have been using moto phones for the last 3 years and i am quite familiar with them. the best thing i like about moto is the way it handles sms. it suits me best. i have tried nokia and SE in writing sms but i didnt quite liked it. the reason why i am specifying about sms is because i am a heavy sms user. i type (not forward) 20-30 sms on an average daily. The three things which i do in a phone is make calls, send sms and listen to call. camera is least important to me.
