no_calls_girl, 02 Feb 2009My e8 works fine until recently when someone is trying to call me and it does not register on ... moreI have the same problem before, I send my unit to service center, and after a week, I have my phone back, its working fine right now. I think they just upgraded the firmware, because, when I got my phone, all my messages and phonebook are gone. In my observation, try to delete messages, it may affect the performance of the phone, once you have lots of messages in the inbox. hope this help.
Hello all. It's been quite some time. A lot of complaints regarding the E8, and again, most of them are not new. If ever you still have your phone's warranty, don't hesitate to bring your phone over to a qualified service center, or if you want and are willing to risk, try modding your phone. It should be A-OK afterwards. No need to pout over small things.
I have had my rokr for a few moths now and it works fine, the only badside to it is that sometime sit frezzez, but other than that it works perfectly.
my opinion in this phone is a phone volume is so down and am not satisfied e8 phone music volume because i have click a full volume as a 20 level and then i don't satisfied loud more than volume so what can i do ?
I found the ROKR E8 to be quite a disappointment. I found myself pressing the un-intended button on the touch screen often. The call quality was nice and it looks appealing but it was definitely not the phone for me. I did not try out the music player too much but I already know it has a decent mp3 capabilities. The 2GB memory should be enough to hold you off as well but I don't use cell phones for music players, plus the camera was terrible. Even in my room with all my lights on the quality was lacking.
I'm going to pick up the curve 8900 bite the bullet and buy it outright.
waaaaah, 02 Feb 2009i have a question. i just got my fon. after 3 days, i tried to transfer a music through blueto... morekinda odd, cant do anything if the phone is not even turning on as there is no way do a cold reset. BTW, can you post the error message? Or have it checked at service center...
ACAR, 25 Jan 2009i got this phone . i am not that happy. i had problem with battery. also phone freezes. i thi... morehey, we've got the same problem... =(
i also experience problems in receiving calls...
i've posted it just recently..
Mine never shows "message sending" and it had pissed me.
What I did was turn on the "Delivery Reports" so I receive a message that says "Your message was delivered"
Any E8 users who gets 'message sending' on their E8?

My e8 works fine until recently when someone is trying to call me and it does not register on my phone at all! i've tried using another phone to call my e8 nearby and after so many rings (until it registered not available) it still does not register at all. weird part is when the caller puts down the call it beeps once and registers as a missed call. this is so frustrating hope someone could help me out. i'm now thinking of having it checked but im also trying to observe whether my settings were just messed up. ='(
aba, 31 Jan 2009thanks coreSOLO for u're answer
but sorry I've 2 more questions. when i restore my stuff all ... moreummm i dont really get what do you mean by restore, do you mean a master reset? I hope you know this, but let me restate just in case...
In modding you will have to reflash your phone with a modified firmware, its just like reinstalling Windows on your computer. However when it comes to cellphones, modding should be done with utmost care. Modders do not keep phone settings in modified firmwares to make them generic, so you will have to reenter those settings manually after installing new firmware.
Once you install a modified firmware on your cell, normally you can not go back to your previous (factory) firmware and settings even if you do a master reset of your phone.
So before modding, just know what you are doing, read the features and reviews of the modified firmware and take help from the modding community.
On GSMArena, we can not help you much with modding, better check out MMUS dot US forums, its the best modding community for E8. But your generic questions and views are more than welcome here. Good luck :)
thanks coreSOLO for u're answer
but sorry I've 2 more questions. when i restore my stuff all my messages get restored again?
and when i restore my stuff also again the mobile settings are restored? (sorry but i used to go to Motorola to do me those stuff but the problem is that they take my fone for 1 or 2 days!!! and i hate to give it to them :)
Pax Nominus, 30 Jan 2009I think your issue is more of a network problem. What happened to me twice was other messages ... moreOh geez! thought im the only one who has experienced this problem. I sometimes receive messages that are combined with another messages w/c makes it really confusing. Its not a major problem though but id always have to ask the sender to resend the message for me to understand it. is this a network problem or a problem with the phone itself?
aba, 30 Jan 2009hey i just heard that when i have my e8 modded its gonna work in a way better and faster.
so ... moreYou dont need to delete your settings and data for a mod to work properly. When you install a mod, it automatically deletes your previous settings and data. So no matter you delete your settings and data before installing a mod or not, the mod will itself do it for you.
But you will have to backup your data and settings so that you can reconfigure your phone after a mod is installed. Apart from backing up files on phone, phonebook and messages, do remember to note down your SMS, MMS, GPRS and network settings.
Detail backup guides are available on modding forums. I suggest "mmus dot us".
