I have had this phone for a few days now and while I like the design of the phone, there are several things I don't like about it.

Pros: Attractive Design, Nice Screen (though
there are obviously better ones out there)

Cons: Low Volume on ear speaker and Speaker-phone (this is my main complaint) overall call quality is not as good as my old phone either

GUI design and features arent as good as Nokia or Sony Ericsson

battery life should be much longer (only lasts about 3 days, my 2 year old nokia can do the same)

A few things that may not be as important (but are to me), Alarm Clock does not have snooze, Calender not as useful as others, phonebook shows both sim contacts and phone contacts with no option to change this...this is important because to have voicedial or personalized ringers you must have the entry stored on your phone, which means deleting the entry from he sim, or having repeat entries in the phonebook (one on sim, one on phone).

Would I Buy this phone again? Probably Not mainly because of the volume of the calls, everything else is relatively minor.

To the person who asked about listening to the mp3 player for 24 hours. I very very much doubt it. Maybe 4-8 hours at the most. Not got this phone, but thats how long my previous phone with an mp3 player lasted when i was listening to it

Can this phone record up to one hour of video recording and is the picture very clear? How many KB can it store one minute of video and one hundred pictures. Do u think this phone is good if i listen to music for 24 hours? Please tell me as soon as possible.

Just got this phone last week for equivalent of USD299 (no operator contract, package includes 128MB TFlash, usb data cable, stereo headset/handsfree kit):
              - the menu speed is good and from 2nd hand accounts of v3 users it is faster... if there is any lag it's hardly noticeable
              - screen dimension is actually smaller than v3 but the resolution ensures sharp images
              - The build quality is very good, solid and actually feels quite weighty
              - Screen and keypad smudges easily
              - 640x480 res camera produces fairly grainy pictures lacking vividness but white balance is reasonable across light and dark conditions
              - mp3 player is reasonable, basic stereo headset is okay in terms of sound quality... the phone's own speaker is mono though
              - any ringtone needs to be copied over to phone memory from card memory before it can be used
              - No idea about battery life... I find it just too convenient to charge the phone since it can just plug into any usb port on a computer
              - speaking of usb it is a breeze to mount it as a usb drive but you'll need to install the motorola software on the PC first
              - the TransFlash expansion memory has conflicting statements... this website says 512MB but there are claims of a 256MB limit to prevent slow access... then there are those who claim to be able to hack it to 2GB... can anyone confirm any of this?????

              Thanks.
              -BRS

i just go this phone. i like it, but my keypad backlighting does not turn on sometimes. i know it has the light sensor, but sometimes it doesnt even light in a dark room and after several tries (and no change in ambient lighting) it will. anyone else have this problem or know how i could bypass the sensor and just have the light respond to a key stroke? thanks

I've received one of these from vodafone. Looks very nice, but the features and useability aren't as good as a nokia. I don't recommend this phone as an MP3 player.

The phone allows you to lock text messages (I'm not on about access to txt messages) but the actually message itself!! Can anyone exlain what this is and what locking the message does??
Ps..I just discovered, if you save your txts to phone, you lose them if you remove the sim!!! bummer!!
