Vodafone UK have just told me that NO stock has arrived for ANY vodafone stores in the UK. Claiming that delivery is now out to 7th December even for those ordered online. Whos bullsh*tting here? Is it Vodafone or what???
Anyone has any info about the EDGE support? It was supposed to have EDGE in December 2005, but since it just came out, will the EDGE version be postponed?
Walked into the local Vodafone? Did you have to get a contract for it?? The lady at my local Vodafone said that they would only have it on contract for quite some time :(
Thanks for that info, though, Dave!
Just finished downloading the latest iTunes and it doesn't recognise the slvr at all. Of course, windows complains too as I don't have a memory card inserted and I know the rokr can only save iTunes stuff to memory card...
Additional - I'm in the UK, walked into my local Vodafone shop and they had two in stock. The lass said they only arrived yesterday...
Got the phone today, it's in my sweaty lil mitts as I type (well - on the pc infront of me!) and I don't think we'll be seeing iTunes on it - at least not in the first release software version. FYI the version of mine is R4513_G_08.B7.5DR_RB and although the player supports MP3 files, there's no provision for anything external. I'm currently downloading iTunes to see if it recognises the phone when plugged in through USB but I've got a while to wait yet - will post back with info as and when I find it :)
stunning looking phone, weighs nowt and is so easy to operate (although as I've come from using a smartphone, brain surgery would be trivial!)
Can anyone confirm:
-the Bluetooth version?
-If it has Voice dial?
-Is it able to act as a Plug and Play thumbdrive?
looks like there may be a shortage of these phones? The delivery date on Amazon has been put back until next year now - it was originally supposed to arrive before christmas?!
Does anybody have the retail version of this phone, or only prototypes. I know Vodafone and Telefone Italia Mobile has it. Please let me know.
In summary, this phone is great!!in terms of desing. But the features is still the same as normal Motorola GSM phone, No Megapixel Camera, & the batt door latch is suck=>very easy drop off after few times taking in and out...
I already own this phone for about 2 weeks, it's incredible, ultralight and what's great is that it's full aluminum, no plastic. What you need to carry always with this phone is an eyeglasses cleaning solution to clean it, cause it's all metal and has the huge screen it's very easy to get dirty with your face when talking.
They have them on display in the orange shop (well the L6 but its basically the same handset just less features). I was surprised how much bigger it was than i had imagined. still felt smooth and big enough to text without fear of fumbling and dropping it!
has anyone actually held one of these? this guy in the carphone warehouse was telling me that the L7 and L6 are quite big!..... gonna wait till i see one in the diamond metal flesh b4 i buy ;-)
he's right, heres a link to it http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.viewPayMonthlyHandsetDetails&action=getPayMonthlyHandsetDetails&intHandsetID=347&variationID=302&offergpid&WT.mc_id=EMA-18-11-05-E001
its been released on the vodafone UK website, from free. and in ireland it is 220 euro pay as u go. its defo not 799, go back to sleep who ever said that
799 GBP for the phone?? Why would they want to employ Vertu's metal onto the phone if they know the price of the phone will sky rocket? Luckily there are other slim phones out there to give the L7 a run for it's money. One fine example would be the Samsung P300. Just look at it's size and you'll know how 'big' the L7 is. I'll adopt a wait and see at this current moment because of the pricing.
to day is meant to be the day that we all get are hands on this beautiful phone.
Only couple hours aways from launch of Motorola SLVR....who can't wait? I'll prob get one imported from U.k.
