Hi Spikester!
Thanks A lot! Anyway, i'm from Malaysia and had been waiting for any news on the release of this phone around the world. Finally the wait is over! All I need to do now is to wait (again!) to have these phones reach Asia. Until then, to me this is the top choice of my purchase in 2005/2006. Thanks Again!.
General Motorola question ,My bother has the v600 it has custom sms tones eg mp3 ,Do all motorola handsets have this? will the v7 have sms tones that i can add??

The phone is on the Vodafone website, it is on the 'Coming Soon' link. I recieved a phone call from a Vodafone operator today and he told me they will be recieving the phone on the 21st October and he said he would phone me back when there stock comes in, which should be the 21st October. I can't wait till then, this phone looks ace!
I agree with u Azza. it is important to say what is correct and the truth. The reason I don't trust these forums is because of what some people choose to say. When I checked the site at Voda, I was utterly disappointed when it wasn't even mentioned on the site. We are here to seek accurate information and I hope in the future that users of these forums can be more responsible on what we say. In terms of other people's opinion or reviews, they can say anything they want. No product is a perfect product simply because, our needs are too diverse. The most important, it is what we want from that product itself.
I saw this phone in the exihibitons in my country last month,at the first sight,I found this phone quite attractive but after I touch it and test the prototipe ones from the motorola,I think it's not better than the V3,the keypad light is not good as the V3,the only think is better is the memory now comes with SD card and it can record video. So the good things are slim phone, video recorder, external memory, good display.the bad things are cheap speaker sounds according to E398,cheap keypad light, too big like you put a PDA in your pocket, trouble software(expereince from the tested phone in exhibition),expensive phone for slim phone only (the price will be U$300)
Mike. Why do you say that u already have this phone when its not even out yet. I am sure the majority of the people in this forum will agree with me that People always say wat u say, its the phrases of 15yr old kids who dream about having fones like these but their old folks wont buy them it.
You do not have the phone yet, if you insist in saying you have the phone, please back that statement up with some actual photos of it. Untill then (im going to say this in the nicest possible way) please try and not say that you have something because people come on this forum to gain valuable knowledge, not to hear some spotty teenager or person winding them up saying they have the product.
Please understand where i am coming from and try to write something more useful or positive in your future posts.
Thank You
I have just bought this phone on Vodaphone.
I have been waiting for it to be released since February.
It is the best looking phone I have seen and used, as for people saying the camera is not up to much who cares if you want to take real photos buy a digital camera you cheap skates.
release date is 1st Nov 05. Very stylish and will be available on 02 and voda. offline price is suprisingly only £149.99
The Brits have it:
MUSICAL FASHIONISTA
Motorola SLVR L7 — free with contract, or £200 at www.carphonewarehouse.com
Disappointing emphasis on styling over substance
The L7 tries to capitalise on the iconic cachet of Motorola’s fold-up RAZR V3, but a year on, this wafer-thin candy-bar design is not as sweet. The cheap LEDs, replacing the V3’s stunning keypad lighting, simply look wrong. It also has one of the worst cameras we have ever tested, and video capability fares little better — a serious gaffe. There is a decent (non-iTunes) music player installed, and the new microSD memory cards can house plenty of MP3 files. The substantial LCD display is fine, while large, easy-to-press buttons enable fluent gaming, too. The navigation keys and clunky software are so poor that the SLVR is more chopped liver than foie gras. This is no turkey, it merely does not live up to expectations.

what service is this fone gonna have ........i think its gonna be cingular anyone know....?
Really cool phone. Better afetr u touch in ... it do have another colour ..which is silver colour.. look great
It changed from the V8 to the L7 because the V series is a flip series, they didn't want any confusion. They where going to change to to the L8...meaning it would be reffered to as the "late" phone, so they changed it to the L7....true story, came out of our motorola rep's mouth! :)
As was pointed out previously, they have removed the G3 or Edge support from the earlier specs. Therefore, personally, it has no appeal for me whatsoever. I'd want a G3 for high speed data via IR or bluetooth without carrying around a brick.
Anyway, I will buy this phone!!!:) This is a coolest phone I ever saw !!! Any Ideas how much its gonna cost on US market????
For me SonnyEricson and Motorola were the best, now when SonnyEricsson doesn't develope their own Bluetooth, and have some problems with handsfree units, MOTOROLA is the BEST!!!!
This phone has changed from V8 to L7 , what is the different??? and I belive the L7 has new keypad , wich I like better, V8 has an ordinary
keypad!!!
But Ideas why they changed it??? and when it's ready for retail?????
this phone is E398 meets V3!!! looks pretty good, can't wait until it comes out in oz... good work motorola. :)
i work for a phone company and played wit this phone. it is quality the l6 is also a very nice phone. these are going to be retailing at a very cheap price. the l6 is going to be about £100 pay as you go, and the l7 about £150. if you ask me thats pretty good.
