Greygeek, 07 Jun 2025The Original Thinkphones do not support eSIM - only an actual SIM Card. They do, it's region dependant, but some of them are nanoSIM + eSIM.

In the 2 years I've had my Thinkphone, I've not had Wireless or Bluetooth connectivity issues. BT connects automatically with my Toyota and Subaru entertainment systems, as well as portable speakers, 3 different brands of wireless headsets, and Linux + Windows laptops and Chromebooks.
For wireless, you do have to tell Android which WiFi network you want to prioritize for AutoConnect.

I have had my Motorola/Lenovo co-branded Thinkphone for two years now, and I still love it. It is a terrific value for the money, except for one thing: There is no optical zoom on the Camera, only digital zoom. So if you're buying a Phone mostly for the camera, it is not an optimal choice. That said, it has a great lens set, and camera feature set including manual exposure controls, Portrait mode, Panorama, LowLight, etc. --- just no optical zoom feature.
I got the 256Gb version for $380, and I have over 300 Android apps on it. The CPU is fast and powerful, and with my T-Mobile service, it works very well in 130 different countries for no extra cost. 5G support is fast, as is LTE, Call over WiFi, I get a system patch update every month like clockwork. The phone currently runs Android 14, but Android 15 is promised by end of summer 2025.
Coming from a Samsung phone, the Thinkphone is refreshing due to the lack of so much un-deletable Junkware that comes on Samsung phones. The 68W battery charger is awesome when you need a fast charge - great when traveling. 20% to 80% battery in 20 minutes. When home, I use a 25W charger with slower re-charge in order to conserve battery life.
The "Ready For" (now renamed Moto Connect) app makes it trivial to connect to another system - works with my Windows, Chromebook and Linux systems without all the grief and debugging and different apps that my Samsung phone required.
It's a great phone!

It's a really good phone for the price. I wished I bought it when it came up, but still.
Using it now, and I'm very happy with it.

There's a tab for the specific Wifi you want. It will not automatically connect to whatever you want before you've linked it to your desired Wifi.

I just bought today a thinkphone from Amazon Saudi Arabia rightaway it cannot connect to wifi network, tried restarting the phone but still wifi does not turn On or connect to my wifi. Any opinions?? Or should i just return it to amazon.. Thanks
