Which is better this phone or SE T610 ?
Yes I totally agree with you Troy, I have a V525 for business use and an E700 for personal use. I need V525 for business so I can link it up to my laptop with bluetooth, I agree that it is very poorly disigned physically esdpecially with the camera lens.
I like my E700 more because it is a lot easier to use and a way better design physically.
Phone has good features but not quite so user friendly, Samsung E700 has less features but is more user friendly and physical design is a lot better.
One really poor physical design problem about this phone is the Camera lens, it does not have any glass cover in fron of it so when this has been in your pocket for even just a couple hours the lens becomes full of dust which is very annoying if you need to take a quick snap-shot....it is also quite hard to get all the dust out of it. Samsung E700 camera lens has been designed much better where even one stroke of the lens with your finger will get every bit of dust off.
Motorola has to improve on physical design and user interface.
scott .. if your phone is not good that doesn't mean all the motorola v525 phones are not good.. try make an oppinion about your phone only.. what happend with your phone is only bad luck.
my phone works good, and one more time, if u want to buy this phone, YOU (all who read this) must learn to use it, not blame the Motorola Corp. for not working something or having few problems u don't know how to solve them!
Have a nice day.
v525 is the worst phone i have ever had the menu is slow the cancel button takes ages to work in all its a peice of shit
Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that on both the 2 phone i have had, the quality of the microphone is really poor - whether i speak directly into it, or some distance, people say it is weak. The earphone hoever is good quality and i can hear all others well.
Again, it seems to point to Motorola cutting on quality...or their Chinese manufacturing plant is doing that, without Moto being aware that they are being screwed on some component quality.
If Motorola want to contact me, i'd be more than happy to liaise further with them to help them to improve quality. In the meantime, after 3+ years i will forget about Moto and go back to Ericsson / Sony.
Had a Motorola Timeport for the last 3 years and although the menus were hard to navigate it was a really good business quality phone. Then i recently went for the V525 because it seemed to have the same / better specs, especially including camera - great for taking impromptu pics of the family, friends etc. However....
everybody seems to say the camera is great, well it's pretty crap, and in sunlight it turns everything mauve / pink !!! In subdued light it is OK, indoors, etc.
The contacts are not synchronisable with Outlook - so if you are a business user forget the V525, and it comes with no CD software - you have to buy that extra, unlike the Timeport (and sony-ericsson).
Very nice quality screen (from Sharp actually !!!)
Has bluetooth, but amazingly slow - you have been warned !!!
No Infrared transfer.
Can access your internat e-mail account via GPRS - excellently useful....but not so cheap to do that regularly.
Overall, a hpone with great potential, but cut too many corners on quality and serious features which really let it down if you use ot for work / business/ Otherwise a great phone for kids and students with some really useful add-ons, but not good enough for me unfortunately.
So now, because of spme quality problems i am taking back my second 525 to the shop and there is no way i will have them send it off for repair or swap for now the 3rd 525. Will instead try the Sony Z600, albeit with a slightly lower-resolution camera it is more business-user friendly and better overall quality.
wot a croc of poo! i've tried 2 different v525's and they both lost the network signals!Hmmm, useful) I,ve gone back to a nokia!
I tried the alarm when the phone was turned off and it doesn't work. Bit of a pain. Also noticed that the battery needs charging nearly everyday. Apart from that htough, it's a top phone!!!! I really like it.
hi, just wondering if v525's alarm is still working/ activated even when i have switched it off? i find that most of motorola phones don't support this..
this fone is great but does any1 know how to store more sms messages
Hi folks, i bought the Motorola V500 yesterday, BUT it can only store as many sms as your SIM-card can (20 in my case). That is not funny, it is also a bit heavy ... Mp3 ringtones are great, and the Bluetooth connection works fine too. The screen is great, very nice colors and BIG (176x220 px). But i'm going back to change it for a (non bluetooth, but light and 200-sms-storing)Samsung E600 i guess... :s

One Love
I finally bought this phone last night, even the lady at Vodafone owns one. It has a great mix of features for the price, perfect for any demographic. Camera is excellent quality, ringtones are great. One question, manual said that leaving charger on wouldnt damage the battery, lady at Vodafone said it would??? Could someone please clear this up for me
Mark

this is a disaster, tooo low memory, the melodies are just so horible, the menu isreally sleeping some times,no agenda, i threw away money some times but this is something else. if u had a good ericsson or nokia phone and u want smth dif this isn t the mobile u want!

Hey
I just got my phone from England, and I have to download the software, because it never came with it, but shouldnt sending e-mails still work?
To the poor guy who dropped his phone in the sink, i dropped my old Nokia phone in the toilet and it too stopped working, leave it off in a bag of rice for a few days, it will all be soaked out and should work again
