the motorola w388 is a basic camera phone with radio,mp3 and expandable memory. i call it a stop-gap phone since it was made to satisfy motorola's want for additional pointless models and not to satisfy it's consumers. case in point is the constant dropping of calls depending on the kind of network and sims used! are we going back to the pre-celfone era? the non-colored celfones are better than this unit if they can't even fix this glitch! motorola better fire their think-tanks and find better people because they sure are not doing their jobs and just like this particular model a waste of money and salary!no wonder motorola seems to be steadily dropping out of the celfone rat-race and losing their buying public,especialy now that there are cheaper and better celfones out in the market willing to satisfy their customers and not scrimp on their products'quality and features.

hi, just came from moto shop
there's actually a trick for that and it is a known issue.
try this:
>go to the In call Setup
>Call Cost set up
>credit limit
>put in the Pin2 code (1234 as default)
>set values to 9999999 (should be seven 9s)
and that's it, it should work

calls get disconnected after 2 seconds. phone sux.

I am very happy with my Motorola W388. I have everything that I need from this phone. I looks decent though not flashy. It is very handy as well fits well with in your pocket. Texting could be a problem in the beginning but when you get used to it, it is realtively easy. The sound quality is good. The battery has long stand by time, and talk time. When you want good quality pictures, you can buy a digital camera with all the savings that you get from this very reasonably priced phone! Bluetooth and IR well, just send it via SMS or MMS. Well, it can't everybody's cup of tea but I say I will stay with this phone for quite a long time.

Nitin, 31 Jan 2009hey im back its me nitin who sugested u to buy nokia 3500 now can u tell me from where i can g... moreMy phone are N3500 n W388, n i not disapointing with W388. i think if u have much budget u can buy N3500, if not W388 is reasonable, because U can buy two W388 or one N3500, because two new W388 similar price with one new N3500, at my country.

U can download n install opera mini 4.2.0 or game from webaccess.. u can open at games&apps ---> java ---> install new... but if u can't download probably phone setting for access GPRS not correct.... happy fun with W388
