Read this !!!! Kodak and Motorola has singed an adgreement for 10 year to suply Kodak new CMOS sensor and technology to Motorola phone. thetr is nothing to do with Nikon
If you really have a problem with these highend cameraphones SHUT UP! Go buy a Z6w, walkman phone or cheapo nokia and get A Sony T series or a DSLR and stop bashing
Anonymous, 15 Aug 2008It is VERY clear that you don't use google
ZN5 has CZ lens, but they aren't advertised
http:... moresoorry about that, I did some digging up ad I couldnt find Carl Ziess :P
As for Nikon thats BS, Nikon dont make their own sensors except for the prestigious D3, most Nikon, Canon, and Pentax sensors come from Sony
STeve, 14 Aug 2008where did you get Nikon sensor and Carl Ziess Lense. Its been very clear that moto used Kodak'... moreIt is VERY clear that you don't use google

If you read carefullly, you willl see Carl Zeiss Optik!
And the things about NIkon isn't yet oficially known
BUt who knows?
Next week; i will try to give Review Motorola ZN5 with final firmware in my own website "motorolazine.biz".
dying a good death??? It's a giant firm! it can't die unless it has fiscal troubles or poor management techniques. I don't see any problem with their designing infact its very appealing to the US market and to Class A B C segments. If you are so hooked up with your nokia or SE in other words a "phone-geek" then stick with it cuz you are not part of that market in which motorola is trying to reach.... comprende?
Anonymous, 28 Jul 2008No one can guaranty screen with 16 million colours look better than 262k colours, no one can g... moreyou shouldnt compare japan's phones to what we have here. If you disassemble the camera modules from japan you'll see a huge difference in size. (so905iCS was twice as big as the k850's module)This is a good attempt by moto though. Most good camera phones shoud ditch the digital zoom for optical zoom. As for RAW, its really insigifigant for ANY cameraphone because it wont get near the quality of a prosumer P&S or DSLR. What is really killing this phone is lack of 3G (Wifi is not readily available all over the world) Lunix OS has improved but what about that Symbian Joint venture with Nokia, SE, Panasonic, Docomo, Samsung, and MOTOROLA. (Perhaps a future joint super OS shared by many companies?). Other than that it would be nice to see mobilephones with VGA or WVGA screens like Xperia or HTC diamond or phones in japan. (I thoink Kodak would make the sensor, Kodak is famous for their sensors even used in Hasselblad, image processing is also a strength. Also Nikon uses some SONY sensors. More likely there might be a small chance that Ziess and Nikkor had an input on the ZN5)
ZN8 vs innov8 vs c905 vs unknown 8mp Lg vs unknown 8mp nokia supershoot out in the future?
Anonymous, 06 Aug 2008Nope... Motorola for handset, Kodak for camera software, Nikon for camera hardware / sensor an... morewhere did you get Nikon sensor and Carl Ziess Lense. Its been very clear that moto used Kodak's sensors (which are decent quality) and Kodak's glass (Not sure about Kodak's ability to bring out glass like Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax, Leica or Ziess) Its a decent cameraphone. However the n82 is out of the ZN5's league because s60. I wont buy into any camera phone until they offer optical zoom (Samsung g900, or DoCoMo so905iCs)
Next week, i will receive my order Motorola ZN5 from my friend in China. I bought with total price (include shipping, tax and other) USD 1,000. For me, nevermind with the price USD 1,000 because worth it with the Motorola ZN5 design, great quality phone, and more reason.

Q: what are you representing to the audience?
A: S.E. is active & various company… even if they still No.5 according to you…but Motorola has nothing to offer to the people same old same old
In fact most of the brands start following S.E. regarding the categories as C cyber shot or W walkman…S.E. give there fans more option then any other brand out there in the market
Like for example few months back GSMarena took 4 models with 5 MP Camera…Motorola wasn’t included…if Motorola is older than S.E. then why Motorola is behind S.E. beside all the other brands…
The point and what I’m trying to say Motorola has nothing new to offer and this model ZN5 is the best prove to my point…the dumbest design I ever seen
Sony and Ericsson before has problem sales. And then Sony and Ericsson joint venture. Motorola before has problem sales. And then Motorola splits company. That's un-normal move. I don't think that's mean Motorola die.

Talk for now. Like it or not; Motorola still no.3 and SE still no.5. That's mean Motorola still the best than SE.
Until now, SE can't sale like Motorola V3 Razr (100 million units for 3 years). People already sicks and bored with SE Walkman because only change the button with same design.

Smartphone sales in China up 32% on year in 1H 2008, says CCID
Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 13 August 2008]
Unit sales of smartphones in the China market grew 32% on year to 15 million units in the first half of 2008, according to data released from China-based CCID Consulting.
Symbian-based models accounted for over 70% of smartphones sold in the China during the January-June period, followed by Linux-based smartphones with a 15% share and Windows Mobile-based models with a 10% share, CCID said.
Nokia saw its shipments of Symbian-based smartphones in China surge over 40% on year to more than 10 million units in the first six months and the company alone took up a 68.5% share in the smartphone segment, noted the CCID.
Motorola, which focuses on Linux smartphones, was ranked the second largest smartphone vendor in China in the first half with a 15-16% market share, CCID added.
Dopod International and Amoi Electronics, the two major vendors of Windows Mobile-based smartphones, each took a less than 5% share, said the China-based market research firm.
Sony Ericsson single type until now never can beat Motorola V3 Razr sales.
Let's we see in this year 2008. Motorola or Sony Ericsson will going down. The fact already speak Sony Ericsson already going down. I don't know why many Sony Ericsson Fanboy always make problem in Motorola Forum.
Sanjay Jha has been named Co-Chief Executive Officer of Motorola and Chief Executive Officer of Motorola’s Mobile Devices Business. He promised until the end of year 2008 will release Motorola Mobile Phone to market with total 40 types of Motorola Mobile Phone.
Ah, the great consumer Civil War begins. If you hate Moto, then stop posting on this forum. You only brainwash other people into thinking that the company's dead along with its products.
The major problem with these haters is that they still think the old RAZR-era Motorola is still alive. Well, think again. Motorola is churning out better quality phones than in the previous years. The Z6 and E8 outclass even the XpressMusic series of Nokia and the Walkman series of SE. The ZN5 is already tested gazillions of times and all reviewers agree that its picture quality is well superior to even the "mighty" N82.
