while it might not be as smooth as n78, you won't feel any differences in OS
camera is pure awesomeness!
not to mention sound quality
go for it
goo, it is faulty phone, my phone doesn't do that!
hello. i use 4 3 months nokia N78, but now i have some problems with phone's diplay. i want to buy a ZN5. what is your advice???
in romania is 350 EURO..
this is best camera phone i have zn5 for 2mounth and realy very good phone
Well I've had the ZN5 for a week and it's about to go back to the store. Battery runs itself down randomly, turns itself off when connected to the PC and then won't turn on unless you do some vooodoo on it, charged 1/2 the time when connected to the laptop, and the alarm only rings when it wants to and not when it's set to ring. Otherwise the phone is great.
It's too bad. I bought this phone really wanting to like it. I just couldn't; not with all the crap that's going wrong with it.
Anonymous, 09 Jan 2009Hey people!
why does motorola germany not bring phones like the em30,and now i read the em35 ... moreAgree the worst things about Moto are:
2)Designers (not the technical ones, of course!)
Really sorry your country can't get the "good" Moto phones...
Actually my place (HK) also misses some good Moto phones from time to time, such as M1000, Z9, etc..

Also depends on your own usage, as for myself, if I know I'll be on the call for anything over 20 minutes, I would dig out my handsfree anyway.
Plus, you can consider how long will you keep your phone....for example, my oldest phone and active phone is Moto V3x, though how many of us really use one phone for over a year?
why does motorola germany not bring phones like the em30,and now i read the em35 probably also not,to germany, when they bring phones like the aura?!?i mean who will buy these super expensive phones in times of a economical crisis and to a country where "greed is cool"is an important saying?they should instead bring phones for the masses!be more competitive in segments where they could sell more phones, like the music centric segment!
everybody says how bad motorola is doing, but they are doing one big mistake after the other!i thnk that motorola germany is incompetent in their job by bringing the wrong phones to their country!and why are there no motorola phones in the big electronic stores(saturn, media markt) where everybody is buying electronical devices?!?
if somebody from motorola could read this, and do something against it...
Anush, 08 Jan 2009I have been keen on this cell. However, I was put off by the quoted high SAR values of this ce... moreGood stuff Anush. Not many people are looking at SAR ratings BEFORE buying a phone. I did my SAR rating checks on my previous RAZR V8 and my current E8 just for my own knowledge before buying, the ratings however did not really affect my final selection as 95% of the time, I answer and make calls via bluetooth headset since bluetooth headset transmits and emits extremely low radiation waves due to its low power consumption. Maybe due to my fussiness, I tend to check on details on things I wanted to buy. I would say you have good practise my friend, sharing this topic here with others is very kind of you too and I'm sure many others benefited from your post.
I have been keen on this cell. However, I was put off by the quoted high SAR values of this cell both in earlier reviews as well as in other review sites (eg. cnet). So I decided to do a bit of my own R&D, and would like your take.
There are two separate standards for SAR. One is ICNIRP (followed by EU and UK), the other is IEEE/FCC (followed by US and Canada). Check pg 344 of the Mobile Antenna Systems Handbook available online at http://books.google.co.in/books?id=g9DvoOdAQIsC&pg=PA344&lpg=PA344&dq=sar+icnirp+fcc+comparison&source=web&ots=uEflNrPAbs&sig=LiNOhd0CXf41Ckr2DBGuzAEvPKg&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=10&ct=result#PPA344,M1
The IEEE/FCC is more onerous and stringent.
As per ICNIRP, the ZN5 has a SAR of only 0.51 against a max of 2. Refer page 50 of ZN5 UK user's guide at http://www.motorola.com/Hellomoto/Master%20Lists/Product%20Manuals/Static%20Files/GB-EN/ZN5_GSG_-_UK_English_.pdf
In comparison, SE models are way way higher on ICNIRP standard:
T700 - 1.55
k810 - 1.31, and of course the direct competition
C902 - 1.34
Arent they more dangerous?
ZN5 on FCC/IEEE standards is 1.54 on a maximum of 1.6. Refer page 42 of ZN5 US user's guide at https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=962489&native_or_pdf=pdf
or at https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=432261&fcc_id=%27IHDT56JT2%27
My Question: Do you think the SE models would be safer on FCC standards? Believe me this might be my first non-SE cell, hence the research.
