I am Motorola ZN5 owner. I lazy to unlock but i never dial by accident because the keypad is flat.
When Motorola and Kodak get rumour; they promise about Motorola ZN5 will be fast click. Motorola ZN5 is not smartphone.

100 Moto, 13 Oct 2008Other than the specs on paper, here are some considerations for potential buyers of Zn5 vs. 58... moreyup...cant forget about the CrystalTalk tech but clarity of calls wasnt really any significant problem. 3rd part applications for Linux is quite a hassle to install. Easy to brick cux right now im using the E6 and it uses linux. 5800 should have no problem with 3rd party application since its symbian.

blah, 13 Oct 2008well i agree that the 5800 does look a little cheap plastic. the ZN5 seems like a overall good... moreOther than the specs on paper, here are some considerations for potential buyers of Zn5 vs. 5800.
1)Motorola is famous for its "Crystal Talk" technology, which means if the user really use the phone as a phone to "talk", then Zn5 having Crystal Talk should be considered.
2))Zn5 isn't exactly a "smartphone", which means it doesn't support much 3rd party program, if that's important to those...
5800 suppors Symbian S60 (whatever) which doesn't have that many programs out as yet. However, response time should be (much) slower than Zn5.
I haven't tried taking photo with 5800, though I did take a few photos from my Zn5, and the phone saves the images as fast as most compact DC.

well i agree that the 5800 does look a little cheap plastic. the ZN5 seems like a overall good phone except that the video recording sux. according to mobile-review, the pics and music quality is superior to the 5800. both phones seems to appeal to me with the 3.5 plug and the long battery life. but the 5800 does come with a 8gb card. so i duno. the main difference i see in both phones is Zn5 with the superior mp count and quality of pic and the 5800 with the 3.2" touchscreen. i guess ill have to play with both phones before knowing which one ill choose.

I'm also hesitating should I buy this zn5 or go for the 5800, when it's available. They're not competitors but I think that the choice is between the touchscreen and the 5mp camera. What would you prefer? One more thing - don't you think that the 5800 looks a bit cheaply manufactured? The 5800 seems to me very plastic and toy-like.

This phone has best camera than any other phone. Printout up to 12x16 is excellent.

to all zn5 users.the linux os is as good as in z6?i ask because i have z6 one year and for me is super!if zn5 is about the same i will get it anyway.the fotos with kodak lens are good?

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2008hey 100 moto..what do u say about the video quality.i came to know its just 15fps qcif.....don... moreDon't know how much you know about camera vs. camcorder, and there must be some kind of difference which companies like Canon can't really make a good one that performs both functions well.
My Canon G9 takes excellent pictures, but its video quality can't matach with any Canon camcorder (sorry, not familiar with camcorder, believe models are like FS100/FS-11)
So just because Zn5 has a good 5mp cam, that doesn't necessary mean it can take good video.
