you cant turn the shutter sound off at all even in silent mode still goes off. ive had this fone for ages and its realy really annoying to use. if your not with telstra then you cant use any of its feautures and even when you are the features arnt even that good its a $979 fone in AUS$ and is defenetly not worth the money.
This is a nice phone to use in many repsects - clean interface, clear screen however I have noticed a few downsides:
- No USB cable included
- USB cable costs AUS$70 or more from Telstra retailers (how can a cable cost $70 when you can buy something as complex as a DVD Player for $60??)
- DoJa Java is used in this phone (as it is in all IMode phones). That means you can't use any of the J2ME (Java) software from the web or from your old phone.
- IMode access and games/applications are expensive. IMode also locks you into Telstra (or your local IMode provider)
- Software (which is not particularly good) for this phone available from http://www.nec.com.au/products_detail.aspx?view=159
- Reviews of this phone available from http://www.imobile.com.au/PhoneReviews/default.asp?ID=reviewsjun0511

I am in Australia, There was no USB data cable included. Where can i get one from? They don't seem to be very available as i have searched a lot of places on the net.
This mobile are IRda?
:| ugliest phone i've ever seen...
Where can I download the USB-software for Windows XP?
Anyone know if java apps can be installed through the i-mode backup and restore function? i-mode is not available where I live and all java, web, e-mail etc. in the N410i can only be used through i-mode! Please email me if you have a .bck file with any java apps, I can pay through Paypal if this works. Anyway great phone even without the possibility for software updates.
good phone but the guy i bought it off didnt tell me that it only works on a telstra network... I am with optus on a long plan so I cant use the MMS function or the I-mode function, before you buy this phone make sure you are with telstra or at the end of your contract if you are with another provider!
Can you turn the camera sound off?
& can you change the colour of the light for the camera?
how long can you film a video for on this phone? will it work in australia?

can i use this phone in indonesia?
the day i saw the nec phone with a customer of mine i was crazy for it.
i never knew there was a powerful one as nec.
i love the brand and the name is very stylish filled with great dignity.
ik nigeria.
Oh, but there is reason to be impressed :)
The camera makes very good pictures (not as 'lifeless' or 'plastic' as those from the noise filter in Nokia 6630 / Sony K/S700 phones). Nice flashlight, even works in the dark with a steady hand.
It will play just about every .mid file in a quality similar to a PC wavetable sound card. The instruments are much improved over the older Nec imode phones (N22i, which were already better than the competition)
Although you won't mistake it for a smartphone, it's certainly the best iMode phone around.
