New batch Yu Yureka phablets will go on sale January 22

For better or for worse the eastern model of selling hotly anticipated smartphones involves squirting out small batches that are literally gone in seconds. This happened to the Yu Yureka, which got a limited 10,000 unit release on Amazon.in (the exclusive retailer) that was gone in 3 seconds.

A new batch is incoming – it will go on sale on Amazon on January 22, 2 PM local time. Since demand outstrips supply, you need to register before you can buy a Yureka, something to do before the sale starts since the units will be gone in seconds. It's not clear how many units will be available this time.

As before the phablet will cost INR 9,000 (which translates to $145) and offer an impressive feature set to go with it – a 5.5" 720p screen, 64-bit Snapdragon 615, 13MP camera and dual-SIM with LTE connectivity.

The Yu Yureka runs Cyanogen OS 11, but bear in mind Micromax's track record with software isn't great. Cyanogen itself doesn’t has run into some controversy in India.
