actually it was a fail from the day Microsoft decided to compete in the phone market where it's heavily dominated by ios and android.
Memories are a million when it comes too Nokia. I used Nokia for 12 years straight. Many loyal customers.
good bye Nokia. farewell.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2014All ignorant think that Nokia died because they chose Windows Phone instead of Android. But... moreWell too much talking. I think u forgot to mention Nokia n9. At least can u say any smartphone that can multitask 30 abouve apps at same time (including high end games) except the most amazing smartphone ever made the Nokia n9 . I challenge u.
still like nokia symbian N96, N95 8GB, E52, E72, N86, N5 & E7
This was a movement that has to be done as Microsoft does not own nokia. Microsoft only bought nokia'a mobile division and nokia and Microsoft are two different companies why don't u people get that? This didn't happen with Motorola because Lenovo did bought the entire company that's why they're still using Motorola's name on the phones.
The only thing I really don't get is that Microsoft has a very good and effective os, so why don't pushing it harder to reach and match android and ios? Appwise I mean.
As for nokia, well, I'm a nokiafan and we'll just have to wait 'till the end of 2015 hoping they can have something to offer
All ignorant think that Nokia died because they chose Windows Phone instead of Android.
But in fact, Nokia destroyed itself. Nokia was already dying and suffering.
Just remember when Nokia's newer "high-end" phones were worse than their predecessors. Nokia N82 was the last good Nokia. After the N82 era, the new Nokia phones were pile of shit. They were horrible. Nokia released phones with weaker CPU, worse camera, ... totally a downgrade. Without any improvement.
S60V3 had several annoying problems. And it was not possible to upgrade the OS on those phones.
I've always hated the business strategy of Nokia. When they released a phone which has a plus feature, they took away another feature that was present in older devices. (For example N95 8GB was chargeable with USB, but the N82 wasn't. 6220 Classic was similar to N82, 6220 Classic had newer Symbian version, but it didn't have WiFi and 3D accelerator, ...). Same happened on software level. If you wanted to get the newest Symbian 9.3 and Ovi Maps with free navigation, you had to buy a new device, despite Ovi Maps (cracked version) worked perfectly on Symbian 9.2 too, but Nokia didn't make it officially compatible ON PURPOSE.
And they released tons of phones with the same specifications.
Nokia didn't care about improving their devices, their customers, innovation, ... so people switched to other brands.
In 2009, while the Nokia high-end phones had only 400-600mHz CPU, 480p video recording and no 3D accelerator, the competition (Sony, HTC, Samsung) had 800mhz-1ghz CPU phones with HD video recording and 3D accelerator and more RAM. The Nokia phones in this year were dumbphones compared to the competition.
Their N-Gage was a total failure. It should have to use the 3D accelerator (GPU) so it would be the excellent, Nokia exclusive gaming system. But instead, the quality of N-Gage games was equal to Java games, crap. (Except a few games, for example Brothers in Arms, however, that had serious LAG problems on the officially supported classic devices like N95 (8GB), N82. Nice idea, poor execution.
So Nokia has never created any good phone without any flaw. They frustrated their users
2009 is the year when I started to hate Nokia.
If Microsoft didn't buy Nokia, Nokia would die 4 years ago in 2010. So Microsoft is the saviour of Nokia.
If Google didn't create Android, Samsung or HTC with Bada or Windows Mobile would become the market leaders and Nokia would still lose the fight.
Conclusion: Nokia deserve to die.
Good. It's always a disrespect to Nokia when Microsoft using Nokia name. Because Microsoft puts an end to Nokia. Nokia should had made meego phones. Bad fate. Very sad.
I think it's time to put an end to Nokia..
I remember how nokia phones used to be in USA films all the time
sometimes motorola .. but not anymore now in films you only see iphones crap..
You served well since 1994-5
Believe me, very very very sad.
here maps soon will be aviable on other android devices
How would other vendors bring something better to the windows phone then what's been produced by the Lumia line up. There's already two big screen phones, one high end and low end. Also great low end priced phones. Also there's phones with really great camera quality that outperforms other phones that are currently out there....Why is Microsoft on the mindset of trying hard to bring in other vendors. Apple doesn't have other vendors and business is working out really well for them.
I like to see LUMIA branding in front of the phone and illuminating or notification WINDOWS logo at the back. But I miss you NOKIA :'(
Why do people cry over it its not like Nokia was your mom and now she is dead . We love Nokia for build quality and If ms can offer it very well take my money. At the end of the day a green 930 looks much cooler than every other samrtphone out there though note 4 r*pes it in terms of smart stuff execpt the camera. And buy the way andoid is not a king android is a cheap virus used by every useless local company and that's why I hate it.
OMG! So many years, so many memories with that name. And it's over now. I am feeling so nostalgic.
I remember the good ole days when i visited GSMArena to see specs of which Nokia to buy. GsmA was at its dawn back then, and now it is amongst the 300 most popular web sites. And this is the 10.000th news page here, can you believe it?
History goes ahead.
Greetings to everyone!
Microsoft Lumia is a zero sales device. Better buy an android from HTC, Motorola, Sony, Samsung, etc. Android is the king
I think that nokia logo must remean as it is...it is true that nokia only produce wp but nokia must stay as nokia...I am to sad about this
Change the name but it will still be the same.its a matter of time before Microsoft pulls out of the mobile phone market. Their windows phone is just not connecting with common people. Nokia's loyal followers no matter how small they are now will all move to android or iOS.
Really dumb move by Microsoft.. Hope they go down with the Nokia ship that they sink..
Does this mean GSMARENA will replace Nokia with Microsoft, or will Microsoft sit at the top of side menu?
