Just to note to everyone, it's not the number of cores that wins the battle always. It's the extensions available on the core and how efficient they are. Since Apple has these cores tailored to their liking, it seems it paid off greatly. Plus since iOS is a closed system, it can target the SoC better than what other open operating systems such as Android or Windows Phone can.

snapdragon lost the game. its krait chips fall really behind. s805 has got 1050 single and 3100 multicore scores.

that means apple products are 50% better than that of snapdragon.

sad to say but android is loosing the battle against apple.

Note that this test was done on geekbench 64 bit for apple. The test on the Nexus 9 was on a 32 bit application geekbench, which is still impressive. The nexus 9 will be on par with the iPad Air 2 most likely

Lol, so my prediction has actually came true. This SoC is more powerful than the Haswell Y and even the upcoming Core M Y!

And the A9 (quad core, 14nm) should definitely be good enough even for a next gen MacBook Pro, let alone the MacBook Air.

                        Intel got owned!

to be honest guys... the way that the iOS environment is set up, and the limitations to developers taken into account, i dont see why it needs to be this beefy... Android needs this beefy kinda specs and i appreciate it (android/htc fanboy here) but iOs is a much better OS for integration and therefore it doesnt need to have beefy specs...

i personally dont like iOS though so theres my 2 cents..

experience: i work for a company that develops content for multinationals to run on all operating systems on the market.
