It was a game plan already planned by microsoft to send a key and top man to Nokia to kill whatever OS that they have and whatever OS they were going to adopt so as to kill the hype about Nokia then be bought by microsoft like a piece of chicken. They planted Mr Elop in Nokia to finish the business for them. Pls folks don't blame Nokia for not listening. There are people that rules this world, no matter what u think or do or want to do, if they say "No" to your plans then just quit or call the Most high God to deliver u and ur company from their sight or agenda. Rest in Peace the best Mobile phone company of our Youth. We love u Nokia but Microsoft loves and needs u most.

Nokia signed dead contract with Microsoft and when they brought Nokia to very bottom position on smartphones market, Microsoft bought them 100 times cheaper. Best business move ever!

The Meego route can be appealing too if they rush it's development back then before iPhone hype is raising.
