Apple are ruthless in general and if they don't get what they want from you they'll move on to someone else.

But come on, Zerg's "solution" is something like one of those cute times when a innocent child comes up with a seamingly simple solution to a complex problem ie: "But if all the rich people shared their money there would be no poverty in the world" type solution. In reality the problem is a lot more complex.
Am I the only one who is going to point the finger at the GT CEO? This is risk management 101, maybe 201.

If there was not enough supply for saphire glass,
Apple should have made a special edition of Iphone 6, called "Iphone 6 Sapphire", and keep GT Advanced alive.
As the technology gets better and given a longer period of time, they could have had more than enough saphire glass for Iphone 7, for example.
This way there would be some Iphone 6 with Saphire glass and the workers would still have a job. WIN WIN

AnonD-146024, 24 Oct 2014Come on Apple Haters, time to put your weapons at work & blame it on Apple for GT's failur... moreIf Apple forced GT Advanced with a demand that it couldn't possibly achieve (I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that GT was no were near ready for a large scale production of such demand when Apple approached them), then yeah, it could be a little bit Apple's fault.
In either case, I don't think Apple itself should employ the 650 people (especially since it has a history of mistreating its employees). Preferably it should try and help keep GT Advanced alive, and not let it close down.

thats right!!!! yeah ifans, thats the kind of company that makes ur all beloved idevices and apple ecco systems. for thier ifans and decadent profits they will suck dry any entity that tries to do business with them all for ur pleasure. suck on that and enjoy ur idevices while hundreds no thousands of people are about to suffer so that ifan committee can continue to grow thats the best trade off ever i certainly love apple now!

truth, 24 Oct 2014no one caresReally it's true, no one care. The big fish let perish small fished & they keep flouting the river bed till are the only occupiers of the land. The message is very clear, this is we rule the land, anyone else has to survive, unless, until, you live on us only or backed by someone beyond the big fish control, like Foxconn.
They make money like hell but for other its penny which matter most. As said by Apple they will anything but what nobody knows but as layman, they will outsource to any other third world companies like they are doing earlier. But really no one cares, neither Owners nor we as users & fans, we bite & chew our own pocket but feel proud too.
