Another reason could be that people are simply not upgrading like they used to...Look at the Galaxy S4 and S5.....very similar, and the display/camera/processor race has died down now.
Just what do this years flagships offer compared to last year? The revolution may have ended, and every smartphone will be like a new TV model, or Stereo.
samsung should give some updates in mid range phone...samsung never update and release new phone in just 6-7 months s duos 2 jellybean s duos 3 kitkat thinking s duos 4 lollipop....samsung has never update OS in mid range phone and phone is old after a year...samsung should give some more features in mid range like gorilla glass ambient light sensor....samsung should change models design A series looks is also not good...Samsung do this 3 changes
I hate to say it but it serves them right. They were my favorite brand until they started:
1. Region Locking Their Phones
2. Quit making international versions with the B17 LTE band for AT&T
3. Removed the FM Radio
4. Don't offer a Google Play Edition. I lover the Samsung hardware but do not need or want all of Samsungs software. I'd even by a Note 4 GPE. I'm going to buy a Nexus 6 instead of a Note 4 just for the unadulterated OS.
5. Jacked the price up too high. Off contract the S5 and Note 4 are ridiculously priced. One can buy a good laptop for less than a Note 4 off contract. My last Samsung was the Note 2. It may have been my last. I'd love to buy a Note 4 unlocked without Knox for $600 with a stock Android.
With all the great stuff from Motorola, Xiaomi, etc., Samsung is in trouble.
they were never kings, they just woke one day with Nokia's decision of not adopting android and the rest is history, like Nokia unfortunately but this is just another proof that android is not a guaranteed way to success
guess the results were really even worse and sammy decided to release Note 4 early..
4.5 million Note 4 might have made a significant difference in the final numbers
MIUI beats Touchwiz
MIUI beats Samdroid
Xiaomi, Micromax, Karbon, Lumia has eaten the "premium profits" of Samsung in India for sure
Samsungs marketing budget brought in the massess. Now the masses are realising that better products exist and are moving away.
Q4 profit down then Q1 2015 more down and.......,.............Q4 2016 Samsung go out of bountry.
In Speed of phones
MOTO G,NEXUS= Samsung all phonS5 (note 4,S5,alpha)
As always, the armchair CEOs are out in force.
It's always easy to offer opinions and advice when there are no consequences attached.
AnonD-72853, 30 Oct 2014Developing a better UI than TouchWiz might help. Otherwise, expect those sales to decline. ... moreit has nothing to do with its ui, the problem is simply to many varients of devices, it is also the slowdown in development when you look at the likes of the s3 to s4 and then s4 the s5, the devices were all to similar, and the hype helped them sell but people are looking for bigger and better, and these pas few galaxy models have been incremental at best(Only apple can sell phones that way and get away with it) it also has to do with the cheaper and much more improved models from China, as well as other large companies producing phones on specs par with samsung and in a few areas far exceeding them, what samsung should do is develop phones for specific markets at lower end like they do but scrap half of them because they are to similar, and they should get back to offering a uber flagship yearly so have the note series, have the galaxy s series and have the alpha series, and scrap most of the deadweight mid range and low range, just develop a few small models for this area
