I hope this time, Lenovo can deliver Android version updates as immediate as how Motorola brings timely version updates to thier phones. With this kind of deal, that could not be too far from possibility. Now, it's their call if they are going to release any official word on such approach

I believe, Motorola's current products, including Nexus 6 and Droid Turbo/Moto Maxx, are not produced by Lenovo - could anyone please confirm this for me? Thank you in advance. Time will only confirm if Lenovo will be manufacturing Motorola's future batches or future models. But as of the moment, Motorola's HQ is still in US and I doubt they'll be relocating it anytime soon nor are their existing facilities - yet again, time can only confirm whether this would ever happen or not. Since Motorola is considered a subsidiary, it is less likely to happen that Lenovo drops the brand name. Wasn't Motorola the first to commercialize wireless cellular phones (with users carrying big bateries along) in the 80's but were actually first available in the 70's? Now, that I'm not certain. But haha. Wow, that's kind of epic. Products that becomes commercially available years after their launch. Lenovo has to lay off their hands from that kind of company history.

I also do hope Lenovo does not interfere with Motorola's employees by laying any of them off. Likewise, this acquisition possibly implies Motorola's easy expansion outside of NA and most likely through countries with available Lenovo stores but null of Motorola retail stores. I have been dreaming of Motorola regaining its glory in my country

This is interesting indeed. Take a look at Lenovo in the PC industry. They are the largest manufacturer of computers in the world. They have ambition, money and now a great company to help ease them into the North American Market with the Motorola name.

We currently address cellphones with two names: iPhone and Galaxy. In the next year or two I strongly believe that we will be seeing a stronger influence from Lenovo/Motorola and they will be taking a lot of numbers away from Samsung and Apple.

The unfortunate part is that I also predict that they will retire the Motorola name and move all manufacturing and offices to China because of cost. Although, this may not necessarily be a bad thing as costs will go down for premium phones (something they will also do).

The real prize for Lenovo are the pattents that Motorola still owns and also the R&D department.

When Motorola just started to take over all other smartphone companies they did this stupid thing.

As far as the Motorola has always been a brand with every thing made in China than its not a big deal for the big Moto to be called a Lenovo company Motorola. Because we have most of the time seen their products with Made in China so, no problem for moto buyers but may be a little big deal for the employees if lenovo would try to or cut their numbers, this can affect the jobs of many innocent people. But if Lenovo let them be there where they are than a good jump may come in their future days.
