Anonymous, 31 Oct 2014Sony should make an entry level version of the X10 mini pro I like your comment, for me soner xperia mini pro is small and real compact phone. I'm not a facebook citizen, only used my phone for reply my email. I miss ericsson anyway, actualy they are real inovator in mobile phone.

Only Apple can pull their own strategy 'cause they are the only company using iOS whereas there is too much competition of brands in Android. Sony might have a better chance recovering if they gradually decrease pricing until their phone specs match acordingly to their pricing

Btw for same amount of money for Z3 one could get xiaomi mi4 and iPad mini 3. Sure its a bit of compromise but hey very very good deal on it. Same with S5

The day they lower the phone cost then they might gain some in the market. Pricing is sky high!

              Here let me help...
Sonys mobilephone earnings increased from 39 million $ to 43 million $,
4 million $ increase this year,
but their operating loss of 1.5 million $ this year required them to lower the estimated yearly earning to 41 millon $
Which is 2 million $ more than 2013.

Sony mobile is doing very good

The strategy is simple. Reduce the prices of your mid range phones. The price should be dropped on a regular basis for all devices. Try to compete with the market rather than using Apple's strategy.

Sales of 10m in a quarter is very healthy number, the problem is that Sony as a huge company must be restructured for modern times.
Quarter 4 will be even higher (Z3,Z3C)

Sony customer "service" made me a life long enemy of the company long ago. I never buy anything they make that isn't cheap enough to throw away when it fails. So going high end won't help them with me. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Maybe its a lesson to all big companies to look after your customers while you have them, because you never know what's just around the corner.

[deleted post]They are a very good OEM Rave. I have the Xperia T and it still a great device.

Some of the suggestions stand. It will be interesting to see the sales for z3 compact & z3 as I think they might just break through the ceiling like HTC.

Going forward they really need less handsets, clearer focus on marketing. Leave low end for small Chinese OEM.

They sold VAIO off to focus on smartphones. Well, Xperia is not doing good. They're gonna have to make an effort quickly.
