we all know this is a big leap for samsung, samsung just wants to make its own OS, and because they are considering google as a competitor for the past few years, eventually they will have to pull off of android, they are monster in the smartphone industry so if they decide to take TIZEN further and take on android and apples ios then as customers and tech savvies we might as well give it a shot.

I think people on here are commenting without information.

Tizen runs android apps without having to have all of the 'required' google apps.

Tizen is truly open. Everything is opensource. Not a half baked opensource like android.

Most are correct in that it is unproven and nonexistent in the market. I will give it a chance.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2014Bada. Never forget.Yes, Sammy ditched Wave phones and left a whole loyal consumers in the wild. There was nothing wrong with the hardware (in fact it was all metallic, great audio, great camera, a very high PPI SAMOLED display when no one heard of retina display), but they should have at least made a compatibility layer for droid apps to run on wave. I wonder if TIZEN is ever going to be popular if it cannot run droid apps, because there is just not enough patience and resources with developers to develop for all tom dick and harry platforms. Those who respect this sentiment of developers, I am sure, will get their product placed correctly.

Tizen is pants OS. just stick with Android. If Samsung decide to start selling phones with Tizen. i think i will defect to Apple in protest.

Samsung now might Switch away from Android after paying to many Fees,so 2015 might be better or Worse for Samsung,Tizen really needs to work like Android, but Samsung have got to Stop putting to many Running Applications that you do not use on the Phones and does Drain the phone battery

Samsung is likely to be exhibiting caution with Tizen for two reasons: (1) it has benefitted tremendously from using Android in its smartphone and tablet portfolio and doesn't want to lose focus on remaining dominant in that space and (2) Bada, the forerunner OS to Tizen, which was also a proprietary Samsung OS, despite its success in France and its well recognised efficiency in battery endurance, did not fare well on the global market (Samsung would be well advised to replicate the superb build quality of its Bada Wave devices with its current crop of plastic galaxy offerings).

Who will buy that when now you can buy good chinese phones for next to nothing, with Android and tons of apps and games.
