They probably just delayed it as the nexus 6 is delayed too. Just don't want users getting lollipop before nexus 6 releases in Europe.

Which is why I stuck with 4.1.2 on my old note1, and why I'll stick with 4.3 on my Mate2....STABLE AS HELL! Not one glitch! You know 5.0 won't be anywhere stable til at least .2 it just makes sense, hold off until the bugs are found and patched.

AnonD-183154, 06 Nov 2014Ha, Google still haven't iron out all Android 4's bugs after 3 years. All those 4.0.1, 4.0.2, ... moreWell, while it's true many are lagging severely in updates, one should not haste into the conclusions you have just drawn.

Android is an Open Source system, many of the bugs that are fixed in latter revisions of the OS were (originally) fixed by 3rd-parties in earlier versions of their own interpretation of Android (and only then sent to Google for inclusion in the main project). Thus, just because you see a minor revision which isn't the latest of Android, it DOES NOT mean those corrections/bug fixes aren't already included (in some form) in the earlier version.

I smell a rat here. Could this be the real reason the Nexus 6 pre-orders seemingly ran out of stock immediately. They didn't run out of stock at all. The damn thing has last minute bugs they have discovered and they have thus had to delay the offical launch date. I would prefer honesty to silly delaying tactics quite honestly.

Delaying the update isn't a bad thing really as it gives devs more time to get their apps and games more compatible with lollipop. I would rather have a bug free android - saying that I'm sick of bug reports on my nexus 5 and battery bug. Also seems to be a charging bug now as sometimes the phone charges very slow and finishes charging at around 90% occasionally.
