Motorola have even more privilege than Nexus devices because Google own Motorola a lot for being:

# The iconic brand for the Android OS with the first Droid (Milestone).

# After a real attack from Apple iPhone concerning the pants, Motorola saved the Android OS with 7000 pants.

# Motorola is the first company amount of any other one that use android OS to choose the Stock Android or almost to work with.

# Motorola after been bought buy Google was the company the could protect Google from most Samsung which wanted to cheat on Google by making his Tizen to transfer all the brand Galaxy series to the Tizen OS.

# After all the Success of Google after selling Motorola and get many projects from them.

Google never quit Motorola completely but choose to have a 4% shareholder from Lenovo which become the best partner of Google instant of Samsung.

Motorola will always have it until Google have no more share but I doubt it will happen.
