That's good to hear, but will Microsoft allow us to develop WP10 apps using Windows 7, or even Linux?
If the requirement still the same Windows 8 and up, then it's useless. No one will develop app for WP10 (again).

For comparison, I can still develop iOS app using old OSX Snow Leopard from 2009.
And I can develop Android app using Linux, Mac, Windows 7, or even Windows XP.

Microsoft is not making it easier for us developer. No wonder people complain WP lack of apps.

Sungsam, 15 Nov 2014read again his comment. 200 web pages open at the same time sounds liar to me.@Sungsam Microsoft already had plans(even before this announcement) to release next major phone OS on all devices running WP8. there is nothing false about this news. if you need a concrete proof, visit microsoft's twitter page and see it there. this is the reason why google announced android one.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2014Tile/minimalistic/flat UI = deal breaker (except if I can change it).I mean it's deal breaker if I'm not able to completely change the crap tile/minimalistic/flat UI.

And it's true for desktop and all other platforms too.

Will Windows 10 be available to HTC 8X? I know 8S is completely out of question.

i agree nexus is premium phone.....
windows 520 is a low end smart phone runs on dual core and 512mb ram.. android l5 is released only for premium phones, by later(almost an year) will release an low end phones.
But windows phone release an update for all low-high end phones at a time even on lumia 520. All windows phone uses premium service (even cortana) at all windows phone. No lag like androidon lower end devices. It is worth to go for windows at lower budget.

                            After the unification of OS;

what if microsoft introduces a second desktop mode?
                            1.Tile screen [Metro]
                            2.icon screen like iOS
how many of you non-windows user will buy it?
                            [just for my research]

good news for windows phones. if windows 10 has new features for micro sd support, capacity, and filesystem its a win for me. currently in the future micro sd will pass over terabyte's. currently windows phone os has supports
•Up to 32-GB SDHC cards using the FAT file system.
•Up to 2-terabyte SDXC cards using the exFAT file system

it benefits users like me that like to put many stuff in micro sd.

Sungsam, 15 Nov 2014sorry i admit that (for nexus only). how about the other vendors? samsung, sony, lg, lenovo, e... moreXperia Z is also being updated and it's a 2 year old phone too. HTC One (m7) is also very near that age and is being updated as well. Moto X (the first model) is younger, but not really that young. It will also be updated.

This shows good promise for these flagships. Even mid-ranges and low-ends now have some hope of proper upgrades with Moto G and Moto E.

Granted it's far from ideal, but things are slowly improving in that front (now it's all a matter of the *consumer* sending the right message to manufacturers. If these well-supported phones don't do better in sales, then the dream of proper support may end up being axed by the manufacturers -- it costs them quite some money and this needs to make business sense to be maintained)

Many people don't prefer nexus because its "so avarege" features. for example people who want better camera and multi window capability prefer samsung devices. And other prefer sony for its good in-earphone music quality.
