It's great and very rare to see that three-years old models receive latest OS from producers and equal treatment of lo, mid and hi range of products. Literally non-existent! Android makers should get a clue!

I thought they had Windows 9 going on for the all-in-one Windows OS for PC, tablets, phones, etc. that would share (maybe at least some basic) functions across platforms. What happened to 9? Where is 9? Are they skipping 9? Well, whatever. If they're skipping 9 for 10, at least they gain a reason/excuse to modify, if not completely get rid of, their current Metro tile design language.
BTW, FEI, it reads 'Windows 10' and not 'Windows Phone (WP) 10'. We may call it W10 by then. So, they're still pushing that one-OS-for-all thing now, I see. I've been waiting for this cross-platform OS. It should work differently than OS X and iOS. I presume, W10 on phones would not be having the full Windows (unless, MS literally conjures up a miracle to get that OS file size a diet). Sort of like Windows RT featuring basic Windows functionality, debuting significantly cheaper price tag than a full Windows 8, back in the day. That is how I see the connection. But I hope MS goes through it well with their upcoming OS and avoid repetition of launching a product with negative reception. Wasn't RT poorly received?
Anyway, weren't there reports of dirt cheap tablets running full Windows 8.x lately? (Check Emdoor or something like that. I know it was on a fairly recent article or blog) If so, I don't see how they couldn't do the same in portlng full Windows 10 on phones (especially on phablet-sized ones). Unless they plan to complicate Windows 10, then I get how they'd be having trouble porting. But I guess, that's less likely of them doing such. They should be smarter than my just pessimistic foresight right there. I guess, I will just have to wait and see for I am clearly not the person holding Microsoft's roadmap of their OS... nor a frtune teller :-)

Great news to Lumia users. I am an Android user and it is the best OS for me, however if Microsoft adds as many features on Windows 10 for phones as on Android, then I'm definitely switching.
