Anonymous, 15 Nov 2014I think people who are insulting this company have Apple-like expectations. Tone it down, lol.... moreIts ok to be skeptic, after all MeeGo was (and is, in many aspects) a very poor and immature OS, its a miracle that it has made it this far. I had N9 myself but i found it to be a big downgrade from N900, MeeGo was so crappy that i changed to Android and THAT was a big step for someone who sees Google for what they really are, oh my god how i hated their ads and fake search results (before the EU fine of Google for fixed search results, it was impossible to get relevant hits for example for free software, only paid and sponsored stuff made it through their algorithms at the time), only MeeGo was bad enough to make me take that giant step.

The world could have looked different today if Nokia had continued with Maemo and made Maemo6 the nextgen OS, imagine the complete and matured full desktop feature Maemo GNU/Linux with a fast modern dual or quadcore CPU with 2GB RAM, the best apps ever on a os (few apps but top notch quality) without a shred of intrusive advertising. MeeGo was dead even before Elop announced its discontinuation, Nokia barely put effort into it, Intel didnt put any effort whatsoever, all they did was whine like babies that it should use RPM instead of DEB binaries and then when they got it their way they stopped and never looked at MeeGo again, they only referred devs to look at the source of their old Linux project.

I have a 9+years of mobile phone retail experience and i had owned a lot of mobile phones from Nokia 3310 to my present Jolla Phone. My previous handsets were Lumia 1520, iPhone 4s, Note 3, Nokia N900 etc. I can say Jolla is completley stunningly flawed. Not by design, Not by their uniqueness but in a market stand point. I have no clue what are their senior management thinking ahead? Is Jolla going to be a smartphone OS company or a quality device company or Emotionally Nokia brand survived company or so?

Sailfish is good in the core
            good to have gestures
            good to be unique
            but
being unique should not mean being weird
when i compare what Nokia did with asha and android
they took android and wanted to be different and standout
they built something which has 50% similarity with other OS and 50% innovation

            what Jolla is doing is
creating a product which is 50% weird 30% innovative and 20% similar to other OS
which translates into 80% weird product with 20% similarity

with this, where is this company going?
even if they build a tablet, phablet etc
they should create a user experience 50% similar to other OS 40% on native apps and 10% innovate

            Goodluck #jolla

They all say "BIG" but their phones are rectangle and getting taller. Don't say BIG say TALL.

I believe that symbian and meego os were the best in market.Look at N8 & N9 still running fast on single core processor with less ram while ios 8 still lags on some occasion with 64 bit cpu.

Looks as if the design would be much sleeker than the original Jolla smartphone.
I'm pretty excited to see what Jolla's doing next.

People need to support new things then only it could grow. and there are people like me who needs some change and dont hesitate to spend for a good os of future.

Hope its not that BIG, i want 1080p around 4.7 inch (like HTC One M7, the perfect pixel density) and reasonable top and bottom bezels.

I donthave words still how stupid it was of Jolla to launch a qHD 4.5 inch last time... I think they ahve a deathwish, and if they really thinking of entering phablet market they sure have, the competition there is way too hard. They should go for niche markets, but not in lower midrange where their current phone is.

We should welcome these new platforms such as linux for phone, WP, BB, Jola and Tizen OS etc....Yes Android is doing monopoly plus iPhone is robbing the pockets of Rich and that should end that will be so interesting that every OS have equal market share
