If someone prefer to buy an iphone and pay more just because they like the gold hue, is entirely upto them.
I will pay more for iphone simply because I am so use to facetime and I feel more secure over "free" ware like Viber or others.
As for the topic of discussion, I wonder how it would sell if there have a iphone 6 mini/compact. I tried using a note 3 for a while. switching back to smaller phone feels so liberating. Granted, I don't actually use phone to watch a movie.
Iphone 6 sells better then 6 plus is not surprising. Samsung has already proven that the S series is a better sell then the Note, for whatever reason. What I am curious to know, with the 6 Plus, do we see a decline in ipad sales?

This isn't surprising, the iPhone 6+ is probably too big to hold. This with the Nexus 6 will struggle in the smartphone market. IMO, 5 inch is the Max size for a phablet. Go bigger than this, and people grow unsure whether it's still a phablet or tablet. Believe me, very few people want to make calls from a device they can barely hold in one hand.

Knowing I had the best handset money could buy I was happy to pay that premium. When the iPhone 5s came out I wasn't very impressed, a little big bigger and a little bit faster. So I switched to a HTC m8, a very impressive phone. I'm due to upgrade in March and not one point made has convinced me that the iPhone 6 deserves it's price tag. I want the best phone in the world, not just the most expensive. Apple used to make the best phone in the world, not anymore just the most expensive.

Whew. I guess cellphone manufacturers' management will take note that not everyone wants HUGE phones and they *will* continue to make good non-huge phones. I would actually prefer 4" tops, but that's too much to hope for, these days, when 4.6" goes for "compact" :/

Others may judge on other aspects, including the overall user experience and factor in certain intangible factors too.

We are already in Iphone 6 and Samsung S5 era, still lots of you comparing the 2 platform. Surely the market is big enough to accomodate 2 platform?
I personally likes Iphone. Why? Becos selling your data to advertiser in not their business model. Do you know how much info google collect from you and sell them?
Iphone is more expensive? becos they have to maintain the hardware and the IOS part. Samsung? got its OS for free from google. And who is paying google? You, with your data.
Your choice.

Apple has never competed on tech specs, but rather on user experience. Android manufacturers simply ignored this and never got it. Only recently after years of exposure to Apple, have they finally started to understand, and now trying to also emulate the user experience.
Samsung Flow is an example of this. And this, is why Apple still leads from the front. Anyone still quoting tech specs after eight years of iPhone, simply proves that they take too long to learn.
