The Gear S is currently on special at Verizon for $250 with a 2 year contract. I have a Note 4 with an unlimited talk and text, and 2GB data plan. All I have to pay monthly for the Gear S is $5 for it's own, standalone telephone number. After they reworked my Note 4 plan, with the same service and data, I'm paying $3 less per month than I did for just the Note 4 plan by itself. My note 4 is on the Edge plan with no contract, and the Gear S is on a 2 year contract.

I have seen it advertised in the online store for Best Buy and Future Shop. What I want to know is if the ones that are sold in Canada will be offering a data plan? I haven't seen anything to that effect yet.
If they are, how much will it be?

I bought it two weeks ago. Do not forget that this gear s still needs a Samsung mobile to work properly. Although it's been told that it is a standalone phone/watch, if you don't have a something mobile you can not even start the watch to work. Without a Samsung mobile it doesn't get any updates either. But the watch is great.

Yes i have called the stores and also have been to many of them and they have no clue about the gear s.anybody knows where or when they are selling it i am in toronto.

What's a "Samsung Official Store"?? There are no brick and mortar Samsung stores here in Canada. The only thing I can think of is the Samsung Experience shops inside the Best Buy stores but I've called around and all the Samsung reps are completely clueless about this - seems like a paper launch and not an actual product launch.

If this watch was a Tissot it would cost thousands, if it was a Rolex hundreds of thousands . Go to watch store and see what you get for $399.00 . I'm not sure if I like the Samsung but i am very excited that there is so many options on smart watches for so cheap .

Samsung - You've got to be out of your mind! That is really Z3 compact flagship smartphone money ! I will buy it when the price will be sub 100 Euros and the battery can last at least 5 days , so ... never !
