doesn't matter how hard sony tries. Lumia cameras with zeiss optics and pureview are far better than any other phone.

Anyway, sonys previous camera algorithm may not be the best. But to say it's bad and the pictures suck is just ignorant and unprofessional. I just skip those hate comments. Don't let them bother you.

I dont understand one thing. Why the other sample image is from 3.2 Mp sensor where new Sony sensor using 21MP resolution?

Maybe that's what's failing at Sony, too many Engineers and too little Photographers.

Anonymous, 17 Nov 2014no it isn't, both imx220/240 have 1.2 micron pixelsYes - but IMX230 has 1.12um pixels. But the difference is less than 10%. But now I see that it says that also a 16MP is planned. Thats perhaps an upgrade of the IMX240 with phase detection focus. I'd rather have larger pixels for better low-light sensitivity. I wonder if 4 neighboring pixels can be treated as one for better low light sensitivity.

If the sam... moreExactly, it's like Sony engineers can't develop good processing algorithms for their own hardware while the others can. Maybe Sony doesn't want to compete with their own compact cameras, but that would be hard to believe.
