Retina? Lol. The technology "not the marketing term" existed on a few different devices years before apple claimed it. Like Sony in 2008. Even Toshiba a year or so prior.
Thus further proving your lack of knowledge and blindness.
DSLR quality! omfg! the only phones which can claim to provide DSLR quality is Nokia 10290 and 808.

Anyway, people are aware of how hater comments work these days:
1. It exists somewhere on another product - OMG this wasn't invented by Apple
2. It's actually innovative - OMG this is so stupid
3. It is innovative, and sells tons - OMG people are so stupid
We know how you guys operate. Negativity is not difficult to cultivate guys. Try writing constructive comments instead, that's where quality is.
Anonymous, 19 Nov 2014You need to relax, of course we know it won't replace DSLR cameras literally.
It's just a b... morelol Says the Apple zealot? You do know Apple has a history of making sweeping declarations on anything they claim to have invented when in reality it's nothing more than a fancy name given to an approach already in use with other vendors?
Of course the zealots will proclaim DSLR quality is "real" when Apple PR puts out such nonsense. Don't peddle the more MPix isn't needed FUD you seem to have picked up from HTC and Apple. More MPix makes all the difference when done right, i.e large sensor size, proper ratio for lens sizes and arrangement, less reliance on post-processing and more reliance on low noise from Sensor. I've seen the Iphone 6 samples, average at best.
AnonD-60230, 19 Nov 2014Apple will insert a different camera in its phone, and call it DSLR level camera and the fanbo... moreWell said. I was about to say the same. DSLR level quality is just a marketing gimmick to convince fanboys into it. There are millions of ifanboys anyway, so I won't be surprised if apple succeeds in this marketing trick effectively.
interesting, Huawei Honor 6x is rumored to have a 8mp dual lens... this was before Apple. Well they all use Sony sensors so I suppose they might be thinking the same.
AnonD-60230, 19 Nov 2014Apple will insert a different camera in its phone, and call it DSLR level camera and the fanbo... more^^^ Post of the month.
now within few months Samsung will bring a phone with dual lens with unusable features. I love this funny part of samsung - if they hard a rumor they will make cheap clone. Obviously unusable (like finger print)...
Ok. Now I am confused wanted to upgrade from i5 to i6 (skipped i5s) - looks like I should wait for next iPhone.
Apple will insert a different camera in its phone, and call it DSLR level camera and the fanboys will be like - "omg what a innovation, DSLR level quality on a phone" and they will buy iPhone without even knowing the truth and then brag about it! -_-
something similar happened when Apple named its display "Retina display"
Price will be $2000.
Iphone m8
hahahah..only can follow

It's just a benchmark to be used, as a point of comparison. Depending on definition, it could mean sharpness, colour rendition, dynamic range, noise levels etc.
Progress is good no?
It seems Apple is benefiting more out of the contract than HTC. They are just moving behind them for every feature (don't get me wrong considering sales and fingerprint scanner in which obviously Apple leads due to blind faith)

They want DSLR quality? Get a DSLR, simple.
Because two protruding lenses is better than one.
They should also get rid of those ugly plastic lines at the back in next year's iteration & name it iPhone M8.
A DSLR level imagery cannot be achieved with a sensor that is 1/4th of even a crop sensor, it is not only sharpness and colours that DSLRs do
