Woah, I thought those Android One phones would get speedy updates. Good thing I didn't settle for one.

Lollipop is half baked OS and it requires several iterations of patch fixing just like how there was 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3.

Roy Miller, 19 Nov 2014You wouldn't face such issues with apple products This is not an issue. Its only fair that a phone that cheap gets the update a little later. Besides for the price of an iPhone you could buy five budget android phones with the latest version. That's what I call upgrading ;-)

When it comes to updates, Microsoft and Apple are best. Google still allows phones to be released on gingerbread, enough said!

None of the the 3 brands manufactures devices. All there devices are manufactured by Chinese companies under contract. So Google may have though one alone cannot get the volume out and the other thing may be the brand linking among people.

If all 3 phones are the same (looks like by the specs), why are there 3 phones and not 1?
Could one mfgr not handle the requested volume? Competitive spirit?

But considering the facts that, update comes to lower end devices and OEM flagships are yet to be updated ( except Moto, lets consider its still part of Google ) this is not a delay. As a fact, these are the budget line up or like 2nd tier Nexus devices, so its only like a month difference between 1st level & 2nd level.

The only reason I bought one of these devices was the pure Google updates, at least at this point I feel Microsoft is much better in giving away the updates. Seriously Google, didn't see this coming. I think my non-Google moto G will get way faster update than this.

This does come as a big surprise, considering the only reason to buy these phones was the OS updates. This will prove detrimental to the future of Android One.
