As for the phone... fingerprint reader is on the back. USB is 3.0 - not 3.1? Home button is soft but also onscreen? How will qualcomm 810 compare to exynos 74xx? No stereo speaker for such large device? Sdcard is under the battery i.e. both are removable. The bezels are way too wide on such large 6.17" display. Yes - 2015 should be interesting.
Muthu, 24 Nov 2014Will SD 810 beat A8, most likely "Yes". But apple has already released A8X in ipad a... moreA8 is not the chip to beat, everyone and his dog beats it. It has a decent gpu but the cpu is far surpassed. A8x is the chip to beat. Tegra K1 almost beats its gpu and Exynos 5433 is close in cpu scores. So yeah, it's very doable. With Qualcomm being Qualcomm though (very conservative advances), I would expect merely to match the cpu performance, yet lose out on the cpu front.
I guess we'd have to wait for the new Exynos or Tegra so that to see A8x truly beaten...
mas39, 24 Nov 2014As i've said time and again Qualcomm rule the mobile chip industry, Nvidia, Intel and Samsung ... morePretty much every manufacturers cpu out there is faster than qualcomm ' s offering and the gpu is shamed from apple's and nVidia ' s. What are you talking about? Qualcomm is notoriously middle of the road chip maker (not too good, not too bad). Her notoriety comes from the fact that regardless of being behind, most often than not, she's the chip of choice for most manufacturers. Tegra k1 is a better tablet chip, exynos has a far better cpu, hell even mediatek ' s cpu is better.
Snapdragon 805 krait core is the slowest of the bunch yet you can find it everywhere. Qualcomm seems to be playing Intel's games (intel was paying manufacturers to buy her wares in mid 200, so that to bury AMD, and guess what they managed just that). Unlike intel (in mid 2000s) though, they're kind of decent (they're not too far behind the competition and their gpu is quite decent too).

When you talk about SoCs, talk about SoCs. Don't mix up software with hardware. I am an android fan, not an IOS fan. That does not change this as a fact - A8X is more powerful than Tegra K1 64-bit (the best in android world as of now).
4K 60fps!! Yes!!!

Apple has an os that is made of icons and a settings menu, it doesn't need that much "power" to operate. Android is 1000% more complex than that wannabe os, ios... It will always use more power, although it's getting optimized by the day :)
FAZA, 24 Nov 2014I hope atleast this will beat apple a8 chipWill SD 810 beat A8, most likely "Yes". But apple has already released A8X in ipad air 2. Will SD 810 compete (forget winning) against A8X on CPU/GPU benchmarks? If not, Qualcomm is way behind apple.
Anonymous, 24 Nov 2014The Exynos 5433 is already at the top and somewhat up where this will be minus gpu.
But they ... moreProblem with exynos is its closed code.
With Qualcomm you are safe with Cyanogen or the like development with exynos you will always depend on Samsung.
I prefer a little less power and more support from the community.
Other chips next year may end up more powerful, but the s810 will always have more features, and that's what you want for a mobile device, what's the point of having too much power, you want a chip with all round qualities and Qualcomm always delivers in this regard.

great but great price too.. hahaha

But they will have similar offerings around then.
and in earlier years Samsung exynos aka hummingbird chips had great advantages too.
Qualcoms greatest lead was 2012 and 2013
As i've said time and again Qualcomm rule the mobile chip industry, Nvidia, Intel and Samsung don't even bother competing once devices with these chips are released early 2015, just can't wait, especially the 6.4" Sony Z4 Ultra.
thenerd, 24 Nov 2014wow....these are beasts, take note Samsung/LG/Motorola/HTC/Sony LG G2 & G3
now that's a proper marriage between hardware and Software
Anonymous, 24 Nov 2014Even for the specs? It's not expensive
It's great for that price
Wonder how smooth Android Lollipop will be on this
Should not have even a little stutter with this kind of hardware

the A8 is not properly utilized or supported.
Those who are expecting to get these devices should know that they are reference hardware devices meant for OEMs. They provide these to the OEMs that are willing to introduce Snapdragon 810 into their future devices. So, it would be beneficial for you guys to not expect these devices in your pockets. :)
FAZA, 24 Nov 2014I hope atleast this will beat apple a8 chiplooks like you missed lots of articles on bechmarks and test where apple's a8 didnt even come close.
Thats great i love it
