As long as i don't lose my staff discount on either networks i don't care lol
Actually o2+Vfe are sharing the same network and the EE acquisition is in progress ... yes 3G and 4G sucks in the UK .. it is funny how much the providers are spending on development and how lame the result is ... well its an island with a weird network for weird people ... :P

EE has vastly superior network capability and are making significant strides in all areas of their business. There has been a massive improvement in their customer service over the past year and I as a customer look forward to their continued improvement and provision of a quality service for years to come!!

EE has the worst coverage, their 4G is slow and their customer serivce doesn't exist. They're a joke. Maybe o2 can show them a thing or 2 about treating customers properly.
As a EE customer i would not want the worst voted company in britain to run EE. their customer service is the worst apparently. EE's customer service isn't that good already.
Anonymous, 24 Nov 2014I disagree. EE has the best 3G network by far where I live (south Wales), and O2 is by far the... moreEE has more masts than any other network which isnt surprising considering it combines t-mobile and orange. but 02 has better overall coverage in remote areas over 2G. however, all the major networks have one thing in common, they all have their good and bad areas of coverage. and its exactly why you will hear some people complain about 02 in one area, and those in another claim they are brilliant. the same is true for all the major providers. even though this is actually very obvious, its something that people seem to forget when they argue over coverage issues online. just because 02 may be bad in one location, it doesnt mean it will be sub standard everywhere. infact in my particular area 02 provides far superior reception than any other network indoors. but someone else in a different area may have a totally different experiance. rather than wasting time argueing with someone in a different area of the country about a provider, it would be far more productive to talk to local people and find out which network offers the best coverage in your area. this is why the operators provide coverage maps. yes, sometimes they are not always bang up to date, but then its like everything else in life................not perfect.
I personally think they see the future as a wireless future , especially with 5G coming in the future . If say 5G one day offers unlimited data there would be no need for line rental which annoys most people as they hardly use the house phone anymore .
Apparently 5G could give a whole house fast internet with no clog ups that would happen with the current 4G if it were to offer unlimited wireless home packages .
This would not happen. There will be zero competition if this passes.
Problem is, BT hardware is crap. a) Their landline phones are well designed for ease of use, but don't last long. and b) Their supplied modem/routers are useless, suffering from problems that are covered online. Panasonic landline phones and Netgear routers all the way from my experience
Anonymous, 24 Nov 2014O2 please don't ever link up with EE as there signal and customer service is appalling!!I disagree. EE has the best 3G network by far where I live (south Wales), and O2 is by far the worst. In fact, EE and Three have a vastly superior network to O2 and Vodafone throughout the UK.
I will however agree with your comment about customer service, though. But it's the core network that matters for me, and as long as their network continues to offer a sustained 3G connection in my area then long will I remain an EE customer.
I was under the impression from viewing other news articles that O2 and EE approached BT with regards to a possible buyout, not the other way round. And the deal will probably result in BT purchasing ONE of the two, not both. The competition commission would never allow both of them to be purchased; that would result in a near monopoly, making Vodafone and Three the little boys.
Is it just me that thinks this is a good idea? O2+EE? That's a massive network covering the majority of the UK. Not to mention BT has experience in this field, and they aggressively price their services. I can't wait if this goes through, think of the 3G and 4G coverage.
telecommunications wireless networks high tech changing fields
-need adaptive retail face- bt has no such marketplace face now - PROBLEM- TOO MANY HANDSETSof poor performances stil being churned dout 2014 and too many tariffs ..TODAY- even in supposedly good 3g/4g signals areas- signal quality was poor -unable to open emails google photos to show someone - this is a major problem =UNDERPERFORMANCES of networks -- skyhigh roaming costs - sleaze greeds overclaims of big companies handsets makers and networks .. even in uk france germany usa canada .. JAPAN has real LTE speeds of upto 120+ mbs ..uk france germany usa canada still struggling with FALSE LTE -socalled 4g speeds of less than 20mbs at best ..SERIOUS FAILURES of industrial leaderships and corporate bosses in usa canda uk france germany .. DIGITAL SCIENCE needs hightech systems -not sleazy greedy corrupt "worldbankers" of sorts ..MULTIMEDIA -ESSENTIAL learning education information communication -much more than present networks offer == bad signals poor speeds highcosts bad aftersales services BAD HANDSETS issues ..LOGICAL ANALYSIS CRITICAL APPRAISALS TO FORWARD THINKING AND FORWARD PLANNING UNDERPINNED by good basic quality of handsets and networks services FUNDAMENTAL must 2014 on..
bubu, 24 Nov 2014Where is competition after this? There is hardly any at the moment, if BT gobbles it all up it will get broken up like their landline monopoly, the service can only get better.
I never understood why BT sold BT Cellnet to form O2 in the first place. It made no business sense whatsoever.
Unbelievably they really now are trying to acquire three UK networks since EE is also a merger between Orange and T-Mobile UK.
O2 please don't ever link up with EE as there signal and customer service is appalling!!
