I honestly question your experience with other brands. I sold off my iPad because off the very uncompetitive OS. Seriously is the most limited one could think to put on a big screen. Some of the apps are great but that doesn't save the iPad to being an enlarged phone. No wonder it loses sales from phones.

You got that turned on the head, iPad is the only useable tablet in real life, try them both before you say anything, after a month or so you will surely be an iPad supporter. Sure iTunes is horrible, i even refuse to install it on my laptop, but all in all iPads have no serious disadvantages compared to Android tablets.
ipad is way too expensive also the iOS must be user friendly like android, one example is the USB mass storage device, instead of plugging it to a computer like android, they also need to have iTunes to synchronize and copy your mp3's and movies from your computer....
AnonD-120291, 26 Nov 2014is there any surprise???? the market is at saturation point with apple, there are also better ... moreBetter tablets, than iPad? We had android tablets and they were useless, while the iPad has been in almost constant use since day one. Not only is iPad the best but its the only tablet worth buying, no regular user who had both would get anything else than iPad again. For sure the stupidest thing i ever did was thinking that Android tablets was good enough, i learned it the hard way that iPad is the only option AND is the cheaper, since it retains its value. A 3 year old iPad 2 is still worth more than a half year old Galaxy Tab 4.
But yeah its saturated, Apple has a problem in which their old devices are still doing well, people see no need to upgrade so often, for example the iPhone 4s is still a truly impressive phone, hartd to believe its age and whenever seeing one its striking how premium they look and feel even now after all these years.
So now the mature markets, including fast growing economies in second world markets like Philippines and Malaysia, are saturated, the new buyers in Asia are formerly poor people riding the on the financial growth wave but not yet at the level where they can afford premium tablets, so they go for $75 China tablets.
I'm waiting for the Microsoft surface 3.
Tablets as Apple envisioned them are just not very useful. They're a novelty item if anything. Tablets ought to replace the low end laptops. You know, the one that can do some work yet are mostly used for basic browsing and media consumption and I must say they failed in that.
Apart from Note tablet I don't see anyone serious in trying that. Add functionality to tablets, make them capable of some basic content creation, differentiate it from phones and then you'd have a healthy place in the market for them.
Apple's doing it all wrong and unfortunately everybody else followed them. People see through the gimmick and they just buy big phones. From here on it's a downwards spiral for tablets unless companies would finally stop mimicking the (failed) apple model of what a tablet should be.
As for me my Note tablet is my basic computing platform, capable enough for basic content creation, much better (than anything else) for content consumption.
is there any surprise???? the market is at saturation point with apple, there are also better tablets out there in my view anyway for lot less cash and given that phone sizes are increasing the difference between smartphone/phablet and laptop is fairly close compared to say 3 years ago.
its like anything though really, you can only sell so many before you see a decline, be it saturation, competition, cost, etc.....

Odd..as personally imho tablets just aren't there yet and the very reason why I prefer a phablet just to avoid from lugging one. A tablet to me should be able to replace my laptop as the main OTG device. As it stands right now anything under the sun are just not cutting that cake aka there's no pressing need for one.
It's either that Android need to bring that 64 bit A game fast by at least throughout next year for better tablet apps or Ubuntu Touch vs. Sailfish OS (Jolla) and finally Win 10 that ball is still in the court. Till then a large screened smartphone works fine as it is.
Sure iPad sales has been plateuing for a bit before iPhone 6 but I've called it before that it's the iP6+ itself that's gonna eat into at least the iPad Mini's pie (evidence being that the recent refresh are just a minor incremental spec bumps) over its bigger and stronger sibling product.
So they'd either kill Mini off or do the crazy kill 6+ instead and add that iPad Pro to the mix who knows.
May be, the users are waiting for Nokia N1 Tab!!!!!
Because they claim their innovations are invention. Now declined then RiP.

That doesnt make any sense, iPad sales have been going down whole year, new bigger iPhones just released two months ago. So clearly thats not reason. Reason is that tablets are already so good.
Wow who would figure Apple is in decline..
A first...
people are realizing there not all that. Overpriced Chinese junk. With a huge price tag. just because it has a Apple logo on the back.
its actually the tablet market shrinking, so yes... sure apples tablets sales will drop, so will everything else.
the reason that they are declining is because they released the ipad air last year. people find no reason for them to switch to the new one. nothing has changed accept for the thinness. and who switches just for how thin a tablet is?
That`s expected, Since phones are starting to get bigger.
Nexus 6 for example.
It's just because apple finally released bigger Iphones that the need for tablets are declining. It's not because apple is as bad as some people try to make them out to be. I own an android phone and ipad, and couldn't find myself without an android phone, but also couldn't find myself without an ipad (I've tried the nexus 9 and just didn't like the feel of it, software and hardware) .
Honestly I think we're approaching a time where we want to use one device for everything. Another thing is that most people can't justify spending any more money on a tablet while they already own 5.5 " and 6 " phablets.
This is understandable. Apple was selling the iPad 2 until early this year. That's a three year shelf life. Pretty incredible!
Also, owners don't treat iPads like phones (dropping them, mistreating them, etc), but like laptops (protective covers, attachable keyboards, etc). So the life span of iPads should be many years, especially for casual users.
Anonymous, 25 Nov 2014"2014 could be the first year in which iPad sales decline". Which means more and mor... moreNo it doesnt mean that, the whole tablet market is hardly growing. It just shows that so many already have tablets.
Also iPad isnt even expensive.
Anonymous, 25 Nov 2014"2014 could be the first year in which iPad sales decline". Which means more and mor... moreNo you ignorant. This means that even Apple, the top tablet vendor, might see a sales decline this year, in the tablets (iPad) department. This also means that sales on the whole tablet market is declining, not that people are buying other tables...
