I am a little skeptical about any Chinese Electronics and telecommunication factory to be set up in India. No offense intended, but a few years back another Chinese ET Giant was barred on the ground that they are placing virtual snooping and surveillance gadgets into the Mobile phone towers. Its not that i am against Anything Chinese, but its better to be alert than sorry.

Welcome to India, Xiaomi. As an Indian, I would love to have an Xiaomi Mi made in India. Yippe! Also that will solve the problem of spare parts availability.

Good decision by Xiaomi which foreseen about markets demand Vs supply chain point of view.
However, another news Xiaomi can save money since brazil taxation is too heavy for import.
India --> might expect BCD 6~10% in future if import phones. if you manufacture and sell in DTA, pls use DTA manufacturing.

Whoever company tried to manufacturing in India earlier got finished. Xiaomi's ownership should think twice about it.

One of the biggest problem faced by Chinese manufacturers are increasing wages. Many firms are already using robots for process like welding and others in china due to increasing salaries .
