I have got OnePlus One invite (india) .. after all these news is it still worth buying?
Not able to decide on it
AnonD-226217, 09 Dec 2014In india, one plus is just selling its product online through amazon with almost zero investme... moreLot of FUD and factually incorrect statements.
Tell us now, what is the price of the Mi4 in India? yeah good luck finding one listed anywhere for order. In Malaysia Mi4 is priced slightly above Oneplus One. The issue with Xiaomi is the useless UI which most don't prefer, so when people get Cyanogenmod on a very good phone for a bit lower it's a no-brainer. Now oneplus is going to make their own lightweight material design intact OS which means much faster updates when Google dishes them out. A Motorola like experience.
If you want to compare the phones the OPO has a superior overall battery life than the Mi4, you can read all about it in this site, they have reviewed both phones. I have the OPO and can vouch for its outstanding battery life.
The WORST aspect by far is that the Mi4 has no Corning glass protection, none whatsoever. No such issues on the OPO, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Xiaomi's solution that competes with the OPO has come up short in terms of features and value. Anyone buying a Mi4 would be just making a compromise.
AnonD-226217, 09 Dec 2014In india, one plus is just selling its product online through amazon with almost zero investme... moreThe mi4 presently sells for $400 (64gb) in China. If you are expecting them to sell for less then you must be dreaming. (That is if they release Mi4 in India before Mi5 is launched.. They were talking of releasing Redmi Note in September but it got released this month..)
And Xiaomi service is equally cr*p.. 2 months to replace an Mi3 screen because they have no spare parts..
Anonymous, 09 Dec 2014The pricing is great for the hardware it comes with.
If you care to read the One Plus blog po... moreIn india, one plus is just selling its product online through amazon with almost zero investment in dedicated Customer service centers (it has tied up with HCL to provide after sale service in India , which has a terrible service record - ask any Lenovo user as they are already well experienced with HCL's 'Quality' support :P )
One plus is cutting cost on every front and yet it has the audacity to price it's first product in the range of $ 350.
Its high time bosses of One plus should learn from Xiaomi (wait till price of upcoming MI4 (indian version) gets revealed and then we will compare it with OneplusOne on pricing, support and sales factor !!

If you care to read the One Plus blog post you will notice that One Plus will provide updates based upon its own software which is going to remain close to stock android. (Just because Cyanogen ditched Indian customers doesn't mean One Plus is ditching them..)

One Plus One equals to 2 Flop Shows :-
1. As if the pricing was not enough, One plus sealed it's fate by not providing future updates .
2. Cyanogen community lost potential users by signing ridicules deal with EL - Cheapo Micromax ( a disastrous venture )
AnonD-4340, 09 Dec 2014How? OnePlus had no business in India at the time, how can you go behind the back of someone t... moreCyanogen Inc was already in deal with One Plus for the international market.. I'm not saying what they did was illegal.. But One Plus has made clear its plans to launch in India since ages ago. So it is a b*tch move not illegal though..
And Micromax doesn't make anything. They just have rebranded phones from chinese OEMs (google it). So you are finally giving most of your money to the chinese anyway..

However Cyanogen Inc. decided to go and sign a deal ($$$) with Micromax that it will not support Cyanogen on any other device sold in India.
One Plus had clarified this before the device sale started.
It is your "beloved" Cyanogen Inc. who is doing the fooling around making half true statements trying to put the blame on One Plus..
Anyway if you like cyanogenmod so much you can always flash it manually on your device..
Anonymous, 09 Dec 2014The d*ck move by cyanogen is the exclusivity deal they made with micromax behind OnePlus' back.. How? OnePlus had no business in India at the time, how can you go behind the back of someone that isnt present? And isnt it good that a local maker hold the rights rather than this Chinese-Taiwan company that ships used phones to buyers paying full price?
Supremo, 09 Dec 2014Haha. Cyanogen turned its back to OPO. Let's see what Micromax brings to the table. They will bring as usual, substandard hardware which looks and feels even worse than it actual is. MicroTrash to the Max
Yahooo, 09 Dec 2014why should we waste money on this..Since you asked, it is definitely not for you. This is a phone targeted at those who know what they are doing with ROMs. Especially those who are pretty comfortable at flashing ROMs on a whim.
Please stop fooling indian customers, dear OnePlus One. India gives you a good market and you ppls selling inferior service to us.
since its running cyanogenmod your phone has root access and you can flash any ROM. Dont worry about the updates.......
