I feel obligated to remind that the octa-core mediatek processor is reportedly faster than snapdragon 400.

I guess the lack of LTE modem on the mediatek processor warrants the inclusion of the snapdragon on the 4G variant.

Both looks similar except for the battery and processor make. Redmi note is better overall considering the price point and also beware if you are from india, asus zenfone 5 comes up with 1.6Ghz atom processor rather than 2Ghz of universal variant. Only thing is compare after sales service of asus and xiaomi
