This information is pretty accurate, and you'll see that these manufacturers are moving a lot more android phones than Apple is moving iOs phones.
Apple: 169 million iphones in 2014
Android Phones: 365 million android phones in Q1-3 of 2014
LG: 42 million q 1-3
Lenovo: 45 million q 1-3
Samsung: 237 million q 1-3
Xiaomi: 41 million q 1-3
Now, apple only has a couple different models of phones. The competition, as a whole mind you, has many different options and price points. I know you specifically said flagship phones, but Apple doesn't have flagships really, they just offer a premium model and a base model for each line.
This is why you cannot compare Apple iPhone sales to an individual manufacturer.

Firstly, most of the phones are sold in UK and US where most of the phones(flagships) by Apple and Samsung are bought over 2 years contracts. In Apple, it's just Apple but in Android, it's many many OEMs. Better OEMs. Currently, price to specs, Chinese OEM's including Motorola(considering Lenovo) are the best options.
Samsung is now the Apple of Android with super high prices phones. As we know how the market can no longer go beyond, the people at Samsung's(basically Analyst) also knows that and just due to that, their expectations won't be that high now. They just know they'll struggle now no matter what just to maintain their marketshare let alone increasing..

take a look at the htc m8 or m9 / hima what ever it will be called it is just a brilliant phone tired of the plastic need something more premium
would love a iphone 6 plus with android os that would be perfect apple design is awesome like HTC
samsung really need to pull there finger out otherwise the S6 will be a total failure
