AnonD-341942, 15 Dec 2014Put Android on a Passport ... that would be a home run for Blackberry I think!Fyi, 90% of Android apps can be downloaded and installed directly on your BB Passport.
I guess some of you didn't realize that BlackBerry has been competently running Android apps for over a year now without betraying your security if that is important to any of you. I purchased a Passport and it is an excellent device.
AnonD-249509, 15 Dec 2014BlackBerry is offering the same product with keyboard it did 7 years ago. What makes them thin... morePlenty of people want phones with physical buttons.
They have that market to themselves entirely.
AnonD-341869, 15 Dec 2014I think that it is better to sell out than to be stuck with excess volumes of unsold product. ... moreYes, well said.
Put Android on a Passport ... that would be a home run for Blackberry I think!
WHAT?! Already!! Grr...welp it will surely be worth the wait, I already know it!
I think that it is better to sell out than to be stuck with excess volumes of unsold product. Turning cash around is important, stock sitting on shelves or in boxes is money poorly spent and bad planning. If all pre-order Classics are sold then BlackBerry has recovered its expenses in manufacturing before the product is even launched. Smart.
Bob, 15 Dec 2014People are saying it's over priced, but yet it's already sold out. I guess other people don't ... moreI agree, its a true gentle man phone, i had this Porsche design with MM10OS, its amazing and blazing speed and i find fun in it.
Yes, one of the Best Quality cell phones ever owned!
Anonymous , 15 Dec 2014The major issue for BBRY is launch price. Z10/Q10/Q5/Z30 were launched at rocket high price &a... moreBlackberry fall imo was due to its late entry into adding a secondary camera to its phones, this came in 2013 with the Z10 & Q10
The range simply did nots sell in the numbers expected or were saviour for Blackberry
Only the Passport is a different design the Classic is a reworking of the Q10 and its pre-order price is market real, and less than the premium or overprice of the Q10
Blackberry have slashed the price of the Q & Z range if purchased directly from Blackberry
Even if you waited one year the price of the Classic will imo never fall to the price of the similar specification Q10 being sold by Blackberry
The Classic price in the UK is 75% more than the Q10 so must drop by over 40%
Blackberry selling off the surplus stock that went unsold
People are saying it's over priced, but yet it's already sold out. I guess other people don't think it is.
The specs are amazing!
Personally I like the Blackberry Passport more.
AnonD-285408, 15 Dec 2014Did they already sell all 200 of them? They must have made hundreds of dollars selling those, HUNDRED$$$ lol
Having been waiting for so long for it, I guess I'd get the Classic perhaps half a year later.
My Q5 is still running in good condition with leaked 10.3 OS.
Anonymous , 15 Dec 2014The major issue for BBRY is launch price. Z10/Q10/Q5/Z30 were launched at rocket high price &a... moreyeah it's way too overpriced. I doubt its price will get down much in 6 months.
wait until 12-18 months to get significant price cut in case of blackberry devices.
Overpriced as usual. for $400 I can get much better smartphone than this one.
No hate for blackberry, if this device sold for $150 I will get it immediately, honest. but above $350 no thanks.
The major issue for BBRY is launch price. Z10/Q10/Q5/Z30 were launched at rocket high price & slashed by more than half (more in some cases) within a year. Passport, being a premium phone, was also too costly at launch. Classic, being mid-range phone, will also be costly at launch. I am seriously looking forward to purchase this phone but shall wait for 6 months/year for price to come down.
MdN8, 15 Dec 2014They have touch screens too. What makes you think that there are no more people who want pho... moreBigger screen - 3,5" instead of 2,44". And I'm sure it's a great bet, which is affirmed by stunning popularity of new large-screen iPhones.
Did they already sell all 200 of them?
Anonymous, 15 Dec 20141 step forward 7 steps backwards... come running and a great leap into the future. That is BlackBerry Classic.
1 step forward
7 steps backwards.
