Im a loyal Galaxy person. I dont care about plastic body, as I (and most of us I assume) always have my phone in a basic plastic/rubber/silicone case that would cover the aluminum up anyways...so why pay extra for that material?
Best part of the G6 is the 3 GB ram. and the processor upgrade. Hopefully the camera continues to get better. Dont care for most of the "bells and whistles" that seem to be crammed into the latest Galaxy phones. Not sure yet I like the curved edge but maybe.
i m the user of S4 but i m impress by iphone6, just waiting S6, may be i will stick with samsung or will go with iphone.
please no more plastic at all not just the frame !!!
I definitely change my S5 to S6

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2014I hope Samsung really does something truly innovative with the S6 and not make it just a spec ... moreyeah, they must!, and they should! aside from the design which is already a given, I really do believe that this is now the most perfect timing for Samsung to really take advantage of their own designed 4GB LP-DDR4, if they're still, want to hold; and wear the crown as, the king of smartphones! otherwise…, let's begin the countdown, for the doom, and utmost destruction of Samsung!
AnonD-329350, 16 Dec 2014Galaxy note s6 plus, , lolIf all of the initial specs here are correct, I'm afraid you are right.
If it looks like the one on the picture I will never buy one.
If they are really building one from 0, I am pretty sure it will not look nothing like the one you are showing in this post.
I am waiting for the Galaxy S6, but, it better be something different..EZ1.
This is totally not true, i hope there is something wrong between who post this OR who get this article...
To: GSMArena
you are the one who made review year by year, but are you truly believe that a 5.5inch will be the rumor for S6?
com'on think a bit, all people know that this is nonsense, or you leave this to make people blame to Sammy?
you should think twice before making post/article.
AnonD-175158, 15 Dec 2014"GS5 is one of (if not the)best phones out there"
In which dream land you've been... more"In which dream land you've been living?"
The S5 is a great phone. Period. I had an S4 and due to circumstances I got it "upgraded" to an S5. And despite my initial thoughts the S5 is a true improvement over the S4 (especially the 9505 version). I still believe that the S4 Black Edition looks better but the S5 isn't a bad looking device in itself.
The problem is that people have become spoiled.
As mr. Chpsticks stated: "..no new design or major leaps forward..."
Why would they change their "design" if it sells?
What leaps forward do you expect? The Snapdragon 800 isn't such a big upgrade from the Snapdragon 600. And the 801 is just a minor upgrade from a 800. What do you expect?
As for the 810 it took Qualcomm over 2 years to get it on the market. We ALL KNEW that the S801 and S805 would be a stop-gaps until the full 64-bit powerhouse would be ready. That they wouldn't be much different from each other. So what could Samsung have done with the S5?
It was thought that the S5 would have had a QHD screen. Luckily it got a FHD-screen because the 801 isn't powerful enough to actually handle it. At least we got the more efficient S801 instead o/t S800 (as in the LG G2).
Besides common sense dictates that QHD screens were overkill (both in cpu-power, battery-usage and real world importance). Good for LG to show off but not much real world value. Don't these "manufacturers" know that with age eyesight deteriorates?
And as for LG's "Laser autofocus". They can fool you but they won't fool me. It's NOT laser assisted focus its actually Infra-red focus assist. Calling it Laser Focus is misleading!
At least Samsung didn't brag that that ISOCell-sensor was a PureView-killer. Which it isn't, it's just a slightly better BSI sensor. And they don't sell hot air like Sony with their Xloud, Triluminous, superior automode and whatever other meaningless slogans they can come up with.
Things like this don't fare well in my book of confidence.
The S5 is just the same known design. Same feature-set (removable battery and SD-cardslot) that some of us got accustomed to and like! Just a bit better than the previous model. More of a step up from an S3 (and clearly targeted at these users) then for S4 owners to upgrade.
You do know that there are still people with S2's walking about?
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2014Yes I really hope, they don't decide to go for a 5.5" display. Why are the phones getting... moreApple also utilizes big bezels, so for a 4.7 inches their phone is quite ... big boned. It's inaccurate to say that iPhone 6 is a smallish phone, it's almost 10mm wider than its predecessor , I don't think any other company made such a quick drop in ergonomics within a single generation (droids became huge incrementally, giving the chance to users to get easily used to huge phone sizes).
"is aiming to sell a total of around 45 million units of the Galaxy S6"
They can aim all they want. Since the market isn't expanding anymore it's clear that their aim is unrealistic. What a bunch of morons.
They sold approx. 94 million units in 2014, they might sell a bit more or less in 2015, and they "expect" half of that sales to be their "high end, high price" S6? Talking about delusional!
Especially in declining markets with economic problems. In Europe where governments are squeezing every euro from it's citizens with taxes, where jobs have been declining for the past 10 years and keep declining. Most o/t jobs in Europe are nowadays "service"-oriented thus artificially created to keep the people busy and paid for with the few remaining tax-payers (who's fortunes dwindle as snow in the sun due to new taxation in 2015).
I predict that in 2015 Samsung will again have "disappointing" sales of their flagship device. Lets not forget that in the mean time the S3 (neo), S4 (9505 & 9515 variants) and S5 (G900x and LTE-plus variants) will also be sold alongside it.
Perhaps the S5 will see a revival in sales if people ignore the S6 and value the S5 more than the S6 (like many have valued the S4 more in 2014 than the S5).
But perhaps this is Samsung's strategy? Release a new flagship to boost sales o/t old flagship.
Another same boring design with plastic back overpriced phone that look same as their low end phone
Galaxy note s6 plus, , lol
AnonD-235353, 15 Dec 2014Thats not a galaxy s6. Thats a slightly better Note 4 with a slightly smaller screen.slightly? i think you are blind
Thats not a galaxy s6. Thats a slightly better Note 4 with a slightly smaller screen.
they don't have to do anything innovative to make it a great flagship i'd want to buy. i wish they'd just pull all the good stuff used in other flagships. ois, laser focus, xenon flash, better front camera. SD 810, lollipop, sd card, that's easy. if they do anything larger than say 5.2", or use qHD, those are dealbreakers for me.
