Apple is so close to slipping into single digit marketshare. Demise of an ecosystem right in front of your eyes.

Apple already beated samsung where it hurts most by big margin. In marketshare game Apple would be number one if they start selling their phones with low price, but Apple doesnt get anything from being one. Neither samsung but they are losing a lot of money, is that good thing for company who is number one? :)

AnonD-262130, 15 Dec 2014A3 and A5 are too expensive. They will not sell well at all.Samsung will decline and 2015 will ... moreA huge nightmare. Samsung could end up dropping to 20% marketshare and only 1 out of every 5 phones sold in the world will be a Samsung. After that, they'll have to get by selling semi-conductors, screens, flash memory, televisions, refrigerators, DVD Players, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, forklifts, computers, cameras, video cameras, solar panels.......what a nightmare.

"We don't want to give our users too much information. We don't want to confuse our users." - Apple

You may want to talk to Apple. They don't seem to believe that you are all that smart. Also, a TI 83 calculator has higher benchmarks than any smartphone. Maybe you think that's the best device based on performance. However, like the iphone, it does very little.

I for one can clearly see where Apple has an advantage and where it doesn't. I'll give you an hint, it involves more than just core count, nominal frequency and MP count.

We need to get as many Samsung phones as we can off the market. A company with poor design sense in both their hardware and software should not be in the lead.

For me it's about how much I can do with my phone, not how fast I can do it. And also, if it doesn't make me smile when I unlock the screen I just forget it. Nothing against iPhones or Androids except... Oh well I just forgot it. :-)

"Smartphones from China are the big threat"
Thats a biased if not a bit offense way of putting it. Article probably written by a USAer. To me as a consumer its quite the opposite - smartphones from China are not a threat but a most welcome and pleasant surprise. Because I get more for less. As expected. As Target would say. Or is it Payless.

lets go, 15 Dec 2014Just taking Samsung & Xiaomi Samsung caters for everybody from the PREMIUM flagship phone... moreSamsung just needs to cut down on the portfolio (people argue choice is good.. however it hurts the company in the form of unsold inventory and marketing)
Xiaomi is big on sale numbers but if it keeps runnning afoul with the law like it is presently in India it is going to have a hard time in International market (however there is always more chinese market to conquer)

As for the iphone 6.. Anyone who knows how to get their heads out of the spec sheet (and spec sheet comparing tools) will know how different iphone 6 is from the 5s.. (and if you are talking of comparing 5 and 6 then a bit of knowledge about processors will help too)

Sure samsung is leader for brainwashing people like you who think bigger numbers on paper means anything :D

We smart people look the device real performance and buy product based on that.

When i was ten years younger i was nerd and bought paper numbers, when i bought iPhone i noticed it doesnt matter what reads on paper if the product is perfectly optimized im still blown away how much Apple can make with their hardware.
