Okay. This is confusing. I bought the nexus 5 in October 2014 and my phone was 4.4.2 which was immediately updated to 4.4.4 by the dealer.
After about a couple of weeks, I received on OTA of 5.0. I did not want to update it quickly as I read about the bugs and other stuff. About a month later, my update suddenly dissappears and I thought maybe they discontinued the update as they are working on 5.0.1. I still havent received an update for my nexus5 and I am waiting for 5.0.1. Any news on when I can get the OTA update on my phone in Mumbai, India??

also a question, can i sideload a 5.0.1 update whitout sideloading the 5.0 first?

from delhi, India...i got android 5 lollipop a month before and a week before got Android 5.0.1. but folks when i was using my Nexus 5 with original Kitkat it was so smooth an sleek. however after the most awaiting lollipop the biggest issue i face is battery back up. earlier i used to use my phone for around 24 hours with one charge but after lollipop my Nexus 5 became like a kids toy and useless most of the time. at times i charge my phone whole night(i always charge with the original charge) and when i wake up and see it will be around 65% and its been so many days i see my phone with 100% battery. earlier i was charging for 2 hrs for 100%. dont know what my genius google friends are doing...Nexus 5 battery really sucks.

vinu, 18 Dec 2014I havent installed 5.0 can i directly install 5.0.1Friend you can't update your nexus 5 directly to 5.0.1 from KitKat using OTA.
Google working on 5.0.2 and it will available next year . BTW 5.0.1 was minor update for 5.0 . So it is better to wait for ota.

You might have bought your phone q4 of 2014 that's why your update may delay.

5.0 was quite annoying,very slow and hangs up very soon.

Did u done it manually or OTA

sid here from mumbai. Update was available for Nexus 5 automatically I did not done any manual task.
