Most of the phones are made in china .
if people can use that then what's the problem in rebranding

The best part of the phone is it being open for hackers like me, i can open the phone, add some GPIO pins ( this i will hav to gigure out how to do) and make it a powerful internet of things tool. Way to go, will buy it for sure just because its OPEN and i can hack it to max. Way to kick Chinese :-)

Sonu, 18 Dec 2014Actually you getting this wrong brother....Micromax is an Indian Company, CEO:Vineet Taneja...... more@Sonu: By your logic Microsoft is an Indian company cuz its CEO is Satya Nadella. Microsoft indeed rebrands chinese phones.
We would prefer it is manufactured indigenously but alas we have no option. Maybe the Make in India will make our dream come true

At 8999 the phone is amazing
            Pros
            13mp camera ,5mp front
Dual sim 4g one sim other support 3g and 2g
            5.5 inch screen

            Cons
2500 mah battery ( dual sim ,5.5 inch screen if data on 4g or 3g how much will it give back up ...company claims to run around for 8hrs of talktime they did mentioned about data runtime)

MICRO sim not many phone runs on microsim except very few

Over all its good but i think these things if replaced it can be a show stealer @ this price like
            1) NO microsim
            2)3500 MAh battery

            Let wait and watch

Sonu, 18 Dec 2014Actually you getting this wrong brother....Micromax is an Indian Company, CEO:Vineet Taneja...... moreYou need to do some googling my friend. I know very well the company is based and registered in India. I am talking about the phones not the company.
I'll explain a bit to you:
Rebranding is taking a phone being sold in China by some local oem putting your own name on it and selling it as your comapnies phone.

                Examples for you to google:
                1. Micromax Yu = Coolpad f2
                2. Micromax Canvas selfie = Meitu 2
                3. Micromax Canvas Nitro = Coolpad f1
                4. Micromax Canvas Knight = Wiko Highway

Please get your details right before accusing others.

And the golden banana award goes to you for your deep knowledge about micromax.....buddy they sell rebranded phones, they don't have any manufacturing unit of own.
Google for there manufacturing plant and even google cannot find it.
