If OnePlus do sue CyanogenM, they will be in breach of their own strap line of "Never Settle"...
I've read the whole case. Cyanogen's CEO sending unprofessional emails from an iPad. Since they are Cyanogen Inc. they aren't making good decisions.

I really don't care how this will be framed (legally), when someone (Cyanogen Inc.) conducts their 1st major business in this fashion others do tend to noticed -- and not in a good way. I am unsure who the hell is going to do a new contract with this "goons", but I am sure it's not someone who expects them to honor the writing.
And that dear sir is FATAL for a business like Cyanogen Inc.

from what i see here Cyanogen used a easy loop hole, the fact is the terms of contract with oneplus relates to OS11 not OS12.
its so easy to see this.
Another poorly written article by PA. Aside from the usual grammar and spelling errors, here is an example of a peculiar (and incorrect) use of a methapor and another for vocabulary:
1. "The gist of it is Cyanogen threw OnePlus under the bus by signing an exclusivity deal with Micromax."
2. "Moreover, the company did not intimate OnePlus regarding this (OnePlus found out about it later)."
Clearly, PA still has a lot of work to do.

I'm pretty sure worldwie exclusivity would have a hefty price tag. Seems more like a 'cost-risk' lesson than 'amature business' lesson to me..

It just so happens the moment an exclusive deal is stroke with someone else (Micromax) the guy with the valid non-exclusive deal now has no way of getting what he paid for.
That dear sir is "amateurish business 101".

They don... morer u loyal to any brand?? m sure u must be wearing shirts from other brands, pants from others, shoes from others, jackets from others n perfume from others... now business ethics n laws... well in india laws are bigger than people... business ethics have destroyed everything in this world n next world war has his name written on it... the patents, rights have caused destruction to all other businesses and stopped making things proper n made it worst for many...now where did ur ethics goes here?? n if u say u killed an elephant then also we wont believe u coz we indians are not fools but we do care for specs n price as we dont want our money got wasted everytime like it does when we buy samsung, sony or any other huge brand, we give huge taxes, do more labour and get paid a tiny amount of money for it and this big companies suck our money and build their own empires which forces us to get rid of them and spend on something logical...

No I used to hate Cyanogen Inc. since they formed because of the manipulative and pathetic way they treated the developers who were contributing to the project..
No CM taking a bag of money from OnePlus for Inida exclusivity is different because it doesn't involve going back on a contract with someone else..
Did I mention this story of Cyanogen's poor ethics? :
1. OnePlus tells Indians that Cyanogen won't give them updates.
2. Cyanogen make a blog post using slyly worded language and calling OnePlus a liar and that "NO ONE will be left behind"
3. People question the sly language and Cyanogen makes a new blog post "No one will be left behind. **Unless you are buying the OnePlus in India" (Wasn't that what OnePlus said on day 1 for which you caled them a liar?)
That my friend is why people hate Cyanogen Inc..
Get your fanboy blindfolds off.. See the facts revealed "as of today" before judging people as haters.

He's right, Indians only care about specs and price. They don't care about brand loyalty or business ethics or social responsibility for that matter. If I said a elephant is killed everytime OnePlus sells a phone in India you'd still all be lining up to buy one.

Read my comments you'll see I'm nobody's fanboy. Micromax offers CM a bag full of money for exclusivity in India and you hate them for taking it? What if it was the other way around and OnePlus secured exclusivity for India? Would you still hate CM? I think not. While either outcome my opinion of CM does not change.

The problem is you need to know your business and act like a reputable businessman. You can't just pull amateurish sh*t like this, which is essentially selling the same good twice and not even be man enough to recognize what just happened and refund one of the parties.
It should also be noted that Cyanogenmod pretty much only has Cyanogen name. It's not his property, it's a community work (LARGE community work), a community which thanks him for founding the project but may very well tell him to go take a hike at any time now.
I lost my faith in Cyanogen when they turned their back on their community and focussed on monetizing
This is a deal which affects only one market in the world, that is India. What ever bashing happens here is not going to workout, becoz Indians are concerned only about the price and the maximum possible value that can be received with this price.
So count on me... On Jan13 Indians are going to test the server capicity of Amazon..

It said that the CM agreement with OnePlus requires that any disagreement is to be solved in the court of California.. And hence the Indian court is not going to interfere there..
AnonD-298939, 21 Dec 2014Absolutely nothing wrong with what CM did which is why even the Indian courts honoured the MM ... morethey could make UN-Exclusive deal again with Micromax but not exclusive, i don`t know which country`s rule system they are following but in my country, if u deal u can`t make another deal that insulting first deal(u can deal if it won`t insult first dealer and his job) and its written in constitution :D so idk what rule system they have :D :D but without any rule, what CM did is not right and anyone can agree with me
