AnonD-298939, 22 Dec 2014This is all about perception. People see them at #3 and think Xiaomi is conquering the world ... moreBut that won't change the fact that they're the third largest manufacturer...
This is all about perception. People see them at #3 and think Xiaomi is conquering the world where as a sales break down will quickly reveal that is not the case.
Go outside, ask average people who don't follow tech sites like this and ask them what is Xiaomi and see if they know the answer.
this is too butthurting those big names fanboys. their wallet also hurt so much
this is free world. just play with your money and let us have this.
excuse me,but what exactly did they copy???
Anonymous, 22 Dec 2014Guess English is not your native language..
"3rd largest manufacturer globally" me... moreActually I was thinking of rephrasing it like you did but it would probably just trigger more half-baked replies.
If you really want to nit-pick then FoxCon is actually probably the worlds largest manufacture and they're not even on the list.
Will not support these copy cats.
congratulation xiaomi:) :) have a bright future. hope u will be the no. 2 in next three years :)
AnonD-338467, 22 Dec 2014No sh**, Xiomi selling quite premium design phones at low price already valued more than $45 B... morelol, "premium design"=successful brainwashing. Apple and Xiaomi are all about PR/Design (Which is crap too) with no technological value.
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014Think what you want but one country is not global.Guess English is not your native language..
"3rd largest manufacturer globally" means "3rd largest manufacturer in the world" and NOT "3rd largest manufacturer supplying devices to the all the countries"
AnonD-338467, 22 Dec 2014No sh**, Xiomi selling quite premium design phones at low price already valued more than $45 B... moreNo.. Xiaomi is selling so many devices because of the low price / value for money factor.
If they start selling a Samsung/apple quality device at samsung/apple prices sales will drop.. Cos people will buy samsung/apple for the same price..
No sh**, Xiomi selling quite premium design phones at low price already valued more than $45 Billion.
Just imagine if they going to sell their even more premium design phones at iPhone 6/6Plus quality & prices, their valued will be 450 Billion?
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014You don't get it (as usual, not surprised). They are the #3 "global" manufacturer o... moreYou have a somewhat valid point but you need to relax a little bit. China is an important market, and why should it be taken out of the list. If an Indian manufacturer suddenly dominates in India, should INdia be taken off the list?
In any case, last I heard, Apple, Samsung, and all the other global players were trying to crack the China market, so Xiaomi is still competing with them, home turf or not.
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014You don't get it (as usual, not surprised). They are the #3 "global" manufacturer o... moreIts seems the news bothered u a lot by reading all your comments here huh?
I do not know where you come from but you should know that Xiaomi already penetrated India and Indonesia market (both are top 5 biggest population). If you include China as well, it proves that they are really 3rd biggest smartphone manufacturer.
Not only that, Xiaomi also selling well in Malaysia and Singapore (These are developed countries). I live in Singapore (first world country) and they sell really well here. I work and travel a lot in few countries mostly south east countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam (almost every month). I have plenty of good friends around asia. Most of them have xiaomi (some are stick to Apple). I also own 3 xiaomi (Redmi/ hongmi, Xiaomi Note, Xiaomi mi3).
Oh one more thing, my 2 best friend also own mobile phone shop in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.. They also agree that Xiaomi sell really well... So mate.. what are you trying to say or deny?
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014Don't judge the device before I've used it? How many Xiaomi devices have you handled? I've ... moreActually Xiaomi is quite pricey by Chinese standards. Most Chinese companies are far cheaper (jiayu, zoppo, elephone, cubot, coolpad and so many others)
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014and next time you want to buy a phone if someone makes an even better phone for 9k INR you'll ... moreur problem is u can praise only bigger and established companies not the one who is trying to establish itself amongst them... in real life u must be praising people who are already rich, not the ones who are trying hard & putting lot of efforts to get success...
AnonD-104517, 22 Dec 2014ur stupidity has broke all the records... i bought iphone 4 brand new when launched at inr40k ... moreand next time you want to buy a phone if someone makes an even better phone for 9k INR you'll buy that one, right? So my logic is actually correct.
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014Don't judge the device before I've used it? How many Xiaomi devices have you handled? I've ... moreur stupidity has broke all the records... i bought iphone 4 brand new when launched at inr40k n sold it at inr 15k when bought note 2 that too i was not getting proper buyers.. i lost 25k here while i can buy xiaomi within 10k n will get atleast sumthing on selling it still will lose less than what i had lost with apple... so ur logic failed here...
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014You don't get it (as usual, not surprised). They are the #3 "global" manufacturer o... moreYou do realize, by following that same logic, if we exclude US&Canada, Apple would lose roughly 50% of it's sales. That makes Apple what? Relatively unsuccessful company with minor impact? Think not. It's numbers that matter, and the fact they managed to get #3 by mostly selling in China is even more impressive. Neither Samsung, Apple, HTC or LG were forbidden in CHina, yet they aren't as successfull. That means something.
thenerd, 22 Dec 2014'"I think to be really classified as "global"' - You're making the mistake of t... moreThink what you want but one country is not global.
Angry Mobile Nerd, 22 Dec 2014You don't get it (as usual, not surprised). They are the #3 "global" manufacturer o... moreThe statistic is not skewed because the statistic is "ONLY" about how many devices are manufactured/sold..
So "taking out a market" from this equation makes no sense.
If the statistic was regarding 'sales in home market' then you can factor in population and stuff.
What you are saying is this:
Mandarin is most spoken language in the world. But "take out china" and it falls off the list.
