jane, 09 Aug 2009i uppgraded to this firmaware over a month ago on nokia upgradecenter.whats so new about this?... moreThese are old news but gsmarena are desperate to make publicity for NOKIA, as much as they can!!
N86 has been the number one article for weeks now, to create a false sentiment o interest and hype.
While other phones, like OMNIA II didnt even took a decent review!!

See the double standards here?? Shame on you gsmarena!!

polo99a9, 08 Aug 2009i can't belive that this phone has it so hard just because it doesn't have a xenon flash. it l... moreIphone 3GS' 3MP camera is one of the worst, which isn't even matching the level of 5800XM or E71, let alone the Carl Zeiss equipped 6500 slide. All of them have a 3MP camera as well.

There is a little light on that environment in the picture so I guess that really isn't a challenge since Nokia's have the ability to use the light in the surroundings to amplify the brightness and clarity of an image in night even when no on "night mode". Even the N95 8gb could handle that. What I'd like to see is a snap shot at a really dark place, no lights and the target object is from a distance and see how it fairs with a xenon

I'm really liking this phone, but I understand some of the comments about it not being that much of a leap forward from the N95. It's more of a gradual evolution. However, I do feel that the slide form factor is something that won't last. Another gripe about the lack of smile detection and other nifty little things is also valid, as Samsung and SE have used these pretty effectively. What I do like about this phone are the little things: The build quality is good and it feels almost akin to the 8800 type of phones. The launch firmware was possibly one of the most stable i've seen on a Symbian handset despite one or two bugs which were quickly fixed with V11. Remember being annoyed at the pub when your N95 was poor in low light? This doesnt have that problem and shows that while LED will never light up a room like the Xenon, it's a great balance between photo taking and illuminated video. It's such a shame that tech junkies are quick to disregard this smartphone.

try adding face tracking and smile and blink modes to your cameras nokia instead of the same lame settings as your n95 how far back does that go?

anybody know the release date of the us version? i have e71 and hp voice messenger, but i want a camera phone with 3g and wi-fi. narrowed search down to n95-8g, n96, n85, n86-8mp, n97 and samsung 8910hd. in the end i decided on this phone for the following features; lens cover, wide angle lens, kickstand, but the only thing that kept me from choosing the HD was the fm transmitter. i've had u600, u900 soul and f-480 in the past excellent camera quality, but overall phone duribility and interface speed were bad. e71 is durable but camera quality average for 3mp, get hot like fire after 10minutes on a call, 5minutes on 3g/wifi. i wonder does n86 have similar problem???
