Kodak Android phones will focus more on the camera aspects of the phone. So hoping for a top notch droid that is close to Lumia 1020 in the camera field but I don't except it. Kodak just doesn't seem to have it anymore. By the way, the last time I heard of Kodak was when I was in my diapers.
Whether Kodak will be success or not I don't know. But 1 thing I do know was, Kodak logo need BIG changes. Current one the downward lines represent business going downfall, which bring bad luck according to Chinese Feng Shui.
To see the return of such a big brand name like Kodak back on the scene is always a most welcome feeling. However having said that doesn't hide nor preclude the fact that success cannot be assured if the company wishes to sell high end smartphones alone. Mid range and entry level phones need to be part of the company's strategy, otherwise the whole purpose of Kodak's return to the scene would have been missed. Another idea would be to introduce later on, a Zoom Camera phone like does Samsung.
Green, 26 Dec 2014Following the trend of Lumia 1020. which many months ago have been enjoying RAW format.
You obviously never made photos with a dslr.
Smartphones made little cameras like pocketcameras and digitalcameras obsolete but not a dslr.
Kodak will not change that since they are selling their name here.
Anyways it is nice to see raw and manual settings in smartphones more often.
gs.delhi, 26 Dec 2014the Kodak camera used in motorola ZN5 was amazing.. hope they will bring something like thatyou mean crap,zn5 camera is disaster, all units got mechanical problems after few monts of use and photos quality is very bad compared to most flagship phones with 5mp camera
Best is phone manufacturer equip with large camera sensor, so that able to capture great photo quality result
AnonD-4340, 26 Dec 2014Dream on guys, maybe its good for you but try to not snap. This phone will be as much develope... moreGo and play with your note 4 boy.. All companies start small.. Your favorite samsung was almost a no-name in smartphones before they decided to copy iphone to get to where they are today..
Anonymous, 26 Dec 2014of course it doesn't bend. because it is made from plastic. So? Plastic is better yet being plastic is "disadvantage"?
AnonD-4340, 26 Dec 2014Dream on guys, maybe its good for you but try to not snap. This phone will be as much develope... moreI fear so too. Isn't it relevant what nokia n1 did? ..and now Kodak basically rely on selling they name to consumer's nothing more. I might be wrong so do correct me.
Kodok, 26 Dec 2014It will be a lot better than Galagxy (complex user interface but lag).complex phone for smart, intelligent people who choose feature and functionality over brand name.and who are intelligent enough to know not to spend their hard earned cash on some junk that costs ~$350 to build, advertise, etc. but charges its customers over $1000 for the 16GB version.oh and that "laggy" phone doesn't also bend in your pocket.
Dream on guys, maybe its good for you but try to not snap. This phone will be as much developed by Kodak as their cameras, which are simply rebranded budget models. Kodaks current workforce is close to zero and of course they cannot hire phone and camera engineers, Bullitt is doing all the work and kodak put their name on it in hope for sme small profit in return.
Read up on Kodaks current history, they are basically a small office, a big name but the company is smaller and has fewer employees than your local gasoline station.
the Kodak camera used in motorola ZN5 was amazing.. hope they will bring something like that
Anonymous, 26 Dec 2014Hmm, "simple"? Smells like more phones for simple poeple (iPhone clones) are coming...It will be a lot better than Galagxy (complex user interface but lag).
Following the trend of Lumia 1020. which many months ago have been enjoying RAW format.
Kodak Android Camera cum phone can enjoy RAW Format through Android 5.0 too.
Hope to see another flagship that is on par with Lumia 1020, i see almost no chance due to Kodak Outdated technology.
Pureview is a software technology, with Lens Precision is every better than DSLR. That made it compatible to high end dslr with a small lens.
Kodak should pay Nokia Patent fee to utilize Pureview Technology to pair with Android 5 Lolipop.
If foxconn can pay Nokia to use Nokia name such as Nokia N1 Tablet and Nokia C1 Smartphone. I think Kodak can do it too.
Bought & still have the motozine Zn5. Not working anymore though.
